Being from "flat" Dallas it makes me proud to see these mountains in my state and really just a few hours away!

Turn off to my place at 1:50. Took a vow of poverty some 38 years ago to move out in this area. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Nice drive. Beautiful mountains! I personally can't think of hardly any place east of this area in the US that is higher in elevation.

@outdoorsman443 Lol yea I know colorado has 14ers but hey, 7-9 thousand feet aint bad either, i luv going out there, and it might not be as high, but IMO its every bit as beautifull, just in a different way, more red rocks, widespread dessers views ect ect, this from sum1 with tons of travel time in every western state, luv them all. As much as i luv visiting colorado, it still isn't a replacement for sunrise at the south rim in Big Bend Texas, luv them both.

@PaulH:it is the highest county in Texas for mean elevation.You would have to go all the way to Tn.,N.C.,orVa. to be in higher elevation.

I have been enjoying all your videos so far, especially the back mountain roads. Keep up the good work. Oh, what were the animals you slowed down for? I couldn't quite tell. Wild boar or deer?

+Duane Orr They look like wild boar. It's been a few years since I did this drive so I can't remember for sure.

Around 5:10? Pretty sure those are Javelina, Short, long snouts. We get a mess of them in the yard from time to time. Mostly harmless. Boars are much bigger, and usually run in large packs.

I assume you stopped the video and went into the observatory.

@outdoorsman443 Did you know Texas is a part of Southern region and isn't even a western state at all?
@MrJohnny555511 жыл бұрын
Then you've never been to central Texas hill country or the western mountain region.
@sexyones0913 жыл бұрын
@outdoorsman443 You're right, Texas is every bit as flat as it's sister state of Louisiana!
