This is the second year in a row that they've had my favorite free dance. Just STUNNING. I loved this arrangement of the music so much, I had to track it down and buy it. I'm glad I did, too. There are some really great tracks on the CD.

If you can find the video of Meryl and Charlie doing "Samson and Delilah" at 2009 WC, video with commentary by British Eurosport, that is really thrilling; the commentators called their FD the best of the entire night (but there were such strict 'political' rules in place re judging that there was no way they were going to leapfrog over anyone -- but there was a huge roar from the audience and standing ovation when they finished). Next best was at Nationals of that year. That's when they first came to my notice; I was a fan through their entire career!

I would agree.:) I think it was the certain circumstance at CoR which helped a little bit for the emotional level, especially the second half of the program. But I still think they skated brilliantly at GPF. You can really notice their improvement on the quality and smoothness of some of the elements. Also those tender touchs during the transitions were better done here, especially during the slow motion.

i still don't know why there was a deduction, (maybe over the time limit?) but apparently there is some rule about how you can't be upside down unless it's a transition in the lift (someone correct me if wrong). considering that the upside down part of that last lift is gone, maybe that was the problem?
