I was at this game as a 17 year old Manly supporter.. I was so sad at the result . As a 58 year old man I now love this match . Parra were magnificent what a great team. Wonderful and thank you 'TheClip King'

How good was sterlo! Great dummy half work and his passing was brilliant. No wonder Peter sterling was regarded as one of the best if not the best halfbacks of the 1980s. I think i need to start watching more of these old rugby league videos.

He should be an immortal. Along with Kenny and Price. For the record, I’m not a Parramatta supporter. That Parra side is the equal of or better than the Raiders and Broncos sides of the 90’s and Easts of the 2000’s. Look at that Manly side and the Bulldogs side they beat.

I used to drink with Graeme Langlands back in the early 2000s and I asked him once who he thought was the best centre since Reg Gasnier. Without hesitation, he replied "Steve Rogers". Keep in mind that Mal Meninga was long retired at this stage. I reckon Meninga was a good player only because of his size - like a prop playing out wide - but had nowhere near the skills of Brett Kenny or Steve Ella, who his cousins Gary, Glen and Mark all said was the most talented of the lot. Brett Kenny himself quietly reminded an interviewer once that he kept both Lewis and Meninga out of the Test team! Lewis admitted Kenny dominated him at origin level, too. Too much politics in sport and Meninga appears to have been an affirmative action pick for immortal. He wasn't even the best player in the Canberra side. What a joke.
