Davud, what an amazing experience to see my country of origin trough your eyes. I was stuck in Bangladesh, Ershad Nagar, for 9 months because of covid restrictions. For me, the first months were crazy (raised as Dutch) but after 2 or 3 months i started to speak and see how they roll. Within the chaos, there is so much going on. For brandclothes, go to the poor part, along Mommengsinghighway, were the factories are. You might find tommy there... inclusive with sometimes at least 3 or more other brands. i laughed my heart out. besides of all the fuzz about pricings and bargin, it was an amazing journey of a lifetime, knowing i have found my genetic family back there. So i will be there more often as i ever imaginated. Enjoy, because byond the poverty, i have seen and understood why it is so beautiful. Even if you will see and hear things you never wished to see in a lifetime. And yet.... it is amazing. I think, after i processed the horrific things, i finally start seeing the beautyful land i am coming from. Amar Desh, Bangladesh, (with cheesy Dutch flavourings (

I'm rediscovering my heritage too. I was born in Dhaka and left when I was 12. I'm 35 now. I woke up one day a few months ago with a terrific sense of dread. I realised that I had been feeling increasingly alien in Canada. And that there never was a time where I really felt at home here. I've been missing literally everything about being a Bangali. I miss the green, the dust, the humidity, the giant ass cockroaches, the food, the people, the sense of being and community. I gave some thought to just moving back entirely. But being away as long as I have; I don't think I would belong there either. And that's what's causing me my existential dread. That I don't have a home. But I've decided that I need to go back more often and as often as possible.

@@Squisky well, did you found relatives? If my health was not so bad, i would find me an international job, between those two countries. There is more available then you think. Even the language will be picked up more easy as i assumed. From the outside we are look like Bengalians. From the inside we are western and isolated. Just enjoy as much as you please. It is beautiful there. Also the lifestyle wasn't so bad. Having a job where speaking English is normal, also works out well. And if you need a little help to find some family, i have little network. Just interesting in your story. 🙏♥️

@missgrifo hello. I have some extended family there but my aunts and uncles are all in the U.S or Canada. I only have some of my father's friends and some extended family. I have to basically make friends there for when I go. I would like a job where I can fully remote. That would be amazing. So I cam then spend winter in Bangladesh and summer in Canada. That would be my perfect setup. Thank you offering about your network. This is what I miss about the Bengali community. Complete strangers are willing to help. And you're exactly right. I am worried that my lifestyle and ideas are too western for bangladesh. So I probably will never fully fit in back home. But I don't fully belong here in Canada either. Because I don't have the same values and culture.

. Davud, your journey to buy a shirt goes through the alleys of the market, to the polluted river, to the rickshaw and finally to meeting a nice and polite Bagali guy. Such an authentic and realistic adventure. You created the most wonderful video I've ever seen. This is not the first time I 'meet' contaminated areas that are breeding grounds for viruses and bacteria. In the USA there are countries mainly in Louisiana and Mississippi where part of the population lives in polluted areas like Bangladesh and also in poverty and hunger for years. I am very happy that parts of clothing - accompany the video in the different countries and give another and different taste to your subscribers. As for the shirts, I have no problem going out and buying you 3x shirts in black and light green colors. Your size is available in different models imported from China and Hong Kong.⛵👕

@@HomeTravelGardenInspo our city corporation and capital development board are way too corrupt. A big dustbin won't work on old Dhaka. If the city corporation really wanted to clear the area they need huge manpower, which our corrupt mayor and counsellor can't afford.

They were wholesale dealers but for a guest from another country they could sell or even give a shirt as a complementary gift. But I don't know this was their decision.😮
