It's an easy rule - You can eat everything from the streets as long as it's cooked. That means any eatable that is cooked in heat. For drinks, chai (tea) and coffee also fall under this since they are cooked. However for refreshments, juices and Pani puri, always ask for mineral water and no ice. Sometimes people drink mineral water served with local ice. That's risky.

Here's a bargain trick my sis taught me for Delhi markets for the fake stuff and... that is whatever price they offer... just remove a zero from it and give your counter offer... and let it stretch to only 200 rs more and not further... like if shopkeeper goes 4,000...say no 400 and then bargain a futher... and settle at most at 600...not more... it work all time and specially in this brand copy clothes and shoes.

Pro tip brother : whenever you are buying from such shops like the shoe one or the glasses one , just say your final price and leave the shop. They'll call you bck. In the shoe shop if you'd said 1500 and left he'd call you back and sold you at the same 1500. There are plenty of stores. Its not necessary to buy from the one you get into initially

@Luke Daman Bargaining tip for you in India. If you have been quoted a price eg 100. You start bargaining at 1/4th the price. You quote 25 and stick to it. If the seller does not agree. Start walking. The seller will call you to bargain. Raise the price to 30 to 40 bucks and then stick to it. Please don't get scammed.
