$4 Nepali Dal Bhat In Pokhara, Nepal 🇳🇵

Finally, we arrived at to place by the lake to have lunch; surprisingly enough only way to get there was by boat. My boat driver was so nice, so I had the pleasure of inviting him to lunch. Between waiting for the food, we also had a chance to visit a nearby village, and we invaded the house without permission. Luckily nobody came out to complain. Here are the whole experience and food-tasting moments.

In most part of India, that's in Central, eastern, western and northern and in Nepal cooked rice is called Bhat and Dal is prepared of grams of different types. Bhat and Dal are staple food in many parts of India and nepal as well. Small fish is very good as it contains lots of calcium besides other minerals

Now go to thakali restaurant and taste their 'daal bhaat'. Order mutton one. You will love it. Finally FYI daal means lentil and bhaat means rice. It is usually taken with side curry and pickle. Salads papad ghee can be added too.

Very enjoyable video Davud bhai. I will be visiting Nepal (for the 8th time) next week for a 10 week stay. Pokhara (Baidam, Lakeside) and the surrounding villages will definitely be on my agenda as will Chitwan and the Kathmandu valley. This time I'm also hoping to visit East Nepal. Bhai, just for your info (and maybe you already know this by now), Dal = Lentils (Lentil soup); bhat = cooked rice; tarkari = vegetables. "Dal bhat tarkari" is what most Nepalis eat everyday, twice a day for breakfast and dinner. I love the Nepali khanna (food) and on my last visit I ate dal bhat tarkari twice a day, every day. In Nepal they say "Dal bhat power 24hour". On special occasions we also ate kukurako masu (chicken meat) or khasiko masu (goat meat - also called mutton in Nepal). Of course momo was a favorite snack as well. Newari food in Bhaktapur will also be on my agenda.
