Na there’s already too many Alamo movies we need more movies about The Texas Revolution like one about the prelude to The Battle Of Alamo which was The Siege Of Béxar that took place in October-December of 1835

This was a whole series, though. You won't find anything like it again because there are people with power in the US that don't want Americans to be proud of their country.

Georgie Russell not going down without a fight. Whatever anyone believes how it ended. That was a fact. Lol. Also- I know he is a fictional character, just saying he went out in the show like a GOAT
@l.salisbury125310 ай бұрын
Georgie Russell is NOT 100% fictional! While there is no record of him at the Alamo there WAS a George Russell who did accompany Davy Crockett on an early scouting mission. Other-than-that we know NOTHING about the historical George Russel. Walt Disney used that obscure piece of trivia as artistic license to give Davy a lifelong sidekick!

There are some accounts that suggest Crockett, along with about a dozen others, was taken prisoner. No mercy was extended to them and the senior Mexican officers ordered them executed. It was actually very similar to what Santa Anna did to the captured Mexican rebels at Zacatecas and Fannin's command at Goliad.
@rockcatinc.4814 Жыл бұрын
No one knows. There were other accounts where Bowies slave identified Crockett to Santa Anna while dead. Dickinson wife testimony, the journal written in two different hand writings, etc.
@stephensmith8621 Жыл бұрын
There is a basement but it's filled with water. They quickly placed the dead draped over the pews and made for the aquifer where they waited . The waters were found but nobody wanted to enter the still blackness and instead decided to cut and run not knowing if it was an ambush.
@kev3d Жыл бұрын
One has to wonder how the Mexicans would know who Crockett was. I see several possibilities: 1.Crockett surrendered as some accounts suggest. 2. Crockett didn't surrender per se but was overwhelmed (wounded perhaps), captured, identified and killed. 3.Crockett was kill outright and either the stories of him surrendering were mistaken or embellished, or someone else impersonated Crockett in hopes that a famous congressman/frontiersman could be used as a bargaining chip and could thus be spared. (Which didn't work) Who knows what the truth is but I think 2 is the most likely because if indeed the no-quarter flag was raised, then I would think no Texian defender would bother surrendering. Especially with the knowledge of what had happened at Goliad. I'd find out, but my time machine has been very finicky lately. It only goes into the future and only at normal speed. Worst etsy purchase ever.

I see what they were going for, but it does kind of bother me that they did not show Davy also dying in battle in this version of the story. The budget must have been really low for this film because that is the worst alamo set I have seen out of the alamo films I have watched. looks like they only had two walls, and one false alamo chapel facade. Yes, I know he was captured and then killed, but going out in battle is cooler even if it is historically accurate.

Davey crockpot was a paid mercenary sent to Texas, rebel rouser. He died at the Alamo
@tallestbalcony2 ай бұрын
No one paid him, Luv!!! He went to the Alamo from Tennessee with my relatives, the Walker and Taylor boys on their own volition and consequently yielded up their lives for Texas... A few years ago, I was at a swap meet in Tennessee where a man had made a birdhouse in the shape of the state of Texas... On the side of it were the words: Texas independence, 1836... Thanks, Tennessee... I'm a macho man... I currently bench press 405 pounds... I tried not to get upset when I saw the words on the birdhouse... I just sat down in a chair, hung my head and cried inconsolably , like a baby...

The truth why the Mexican 🇲🇽 province of Texas was balkanized by US-American immigrants, was because the Mexican central government of General Santa Anna declared slavery illegal in Texas. (Santa Anna abhorred slavery, also the father of the country of Mexico, had abolished slavery since 1810). In addition, the Mexican law ordered to punish all those pioneers who did not free their slaves. This did not sit well with the US-American immigrants who wanted to keep slavery legal in Texas. That's why the Texas Civil War started. The Mexican soldiers who defended the territorial integrity of Mexico in the battle of the Alamo are actually the good guys in a story manipulated by official historiography. GLORY TO MEXICAN 🇲🇽 TEXAS
@undertheneonlights4 ай бұрын
To suggest Davy Crockett and the free Texans were bad people because they were slave owners is ridiculous since EVERYONE was back then. Mexico abolished slavery in 1810 but only in 1829 it applied for the Texas region. Santa Anna has been the worst dictator in the history of Mexico, him and his goons shouldn't be regarded as heroes of anything. The Alamo happened over issues like Federalism, preservation of the Antebellum South, slavery, immigration rights, the cotton industry, and above all, money. White and Hispanic Texans fight side by side for a free, Independent Texas, "slavery" is only one of the many many horrible things that were completely accepted back then and one of the many many reasons they were fighting to preserve, way down the list compared to their OWN FREEDOM. Remember the Alamo.
