I was forced to cut mine completely so that my head was as smooth as my face when my dad died. I was in Form 1 and didn't like it, but had to do it as a sign of paying respect to our fallen hero😊. So your culture is just the same as our culture in Western Kenya. Your mum did the right thing. We are because of our culture so we cannot run away😊

Your mom has so much to do on her plate each day. Less tome worrying about her hair styles in a village with limited resources to help her with this issue must be very freeing. She may have to wear mre head wraps when the weather gets cold.
