Dawless 028 - Early Morning Rain (Roland S-1 + J-6, Korg NTS-1)

A quick jam before I head off to Japan for two weeks. Really looking forward to that! During my trip I will decide what my future setup will be. I'll probably add the MC-101 to my setup, which will give me, together with the S-1 and J-6, six synth tracks in total (or five and a drumtrack) and overall a nice compact setup.
I might sell the J-6 as well, but currently I still think it is a valuable part of my setup, as this minimalistic jam proves. For this jam I only use the S-1 and J-6, plus the NTS-1 for the reverb. A good exercise to confirm I don't need a lot of gear for a nice soundscape.

I think this jam just made my mind up about getting the j-6 and s-1. Sounded great. What do you use to record your audio with? I’m hoping to use AUM to record my jams.

I like to keep things simple. I record my audio with a small and cheap stereo audio interface, the Behringer UCA202. On the PC side you can use any recording software that recognizes the audio interface (Quicktime, GarageBand, Ableton, etc.)

How does one record the sound directly high quality to a video?

I record the audio and video separately. I record the audio on my Mac with Quicktime, which can record audio from my audio interface. I record the video with my iPad. After that I merge the video and audio in a video editing app.
