I was also surprised! In her rematch team and if you pick Turtwig, she got the exact same team as Dawn from the anime but evolved! Just like Red in HG/SS.

For anyone wondering “why the bellossom?” All of her teams have a grass/fire/water core consisting of 2 starters and 1 other mon. Bellossom is here simply for the sake of consistency, otherwise all of her teams would need an electric type (probably other Pikachu clones) to compensate for Pachirisu.

Fun idea: Since I don't have the switch and BDSP, I do have the original games, Pokemon Heartgold, my old DS, and my 3DS. With this information, I will start up a new pearl game using Dawn's team from this video. Of course, trading would be a bit complicated, but I think it would be worth trying. Wish me luck.

In order to make a grass fire water trio core, you would need a grass type as small and cute as pachirisu to still match anime canon in someway, and Bellossom fits that role perfectly, and let's be honest, for those of us who seen about the anime, it would be so like her to capture something like an oddish and evolve it all the way to Bellossom. Think of the Pokemon contests she could win with that on her team.

I used to do that all the time when I was younger! I was make play all the Pokémon games and make my trainer on there the same as the ones in anime and from the Pokémon Adventures manga books! Catching and raising the same Pokémon they have, get them to have the same moves and I would get the same ribbons from the Pokémon contests on Pokémon Ruby for the same Pokémon that Ruby used in the manga, even got all the beauty ribbon for Feebas b4 I managed to evolve it! Even nicknamed all the Pokémon to match the names from the manga! It was hard work, but so much fun!
