Hi! As the game is finally officially available, I've decided to share my own experience from the game from beginning to End.
I did absolutely everything from the game, recorded all the important stuff. If you don't want to get spoiled althought it's from a game that already existed, don't go on the internet.

Battle tower was a real pain when I played it first on Crystal. It was as if they wake up in 1-3 turns instead of 1-5. Along with that, their attacks multiplied by a billion

So as i see the logic of the pairings. Roark and byron- father and son Mira and cheryl- travelling companions near eterna Gardenia and fantina- old chateau and gardenia’s fear of ghosts Jupiter and saturn- team galactic commanders Candice and maylene- maylene trains in snowpoint in plat Riley and marnie- travelling companions in high level places? Bertha and buck- both have a ground type ace? Flint and volkner- flint cheers up volkner and they double battle in plat Cyrus and mars- team galactic boss and commander with the most fights Barry and palmer- father and son

Mars higly respect Cyrus and the most loyal out of all commanders. It shows in all adaptation of the game. In Platinum, she's the one who look for Cyrus after he's gone.

@@Justic_ Buck is the younger brother of Flint, Flint is one of the E4 like Betha and likely put Bertha and Buck in contact with one another. Since Flint was teamed up with Volkner but Buck's goal is to be the greatest trainer it makes sense he would team up (essentially study under) one of the other greatest trainers in the region. Bertha is closest to Buck in terms of batling style both utilizing heavy defensive style pokemon so Bertha is a better fit for Buck than Aaron or Lucien are.

Gordie and Melony could learn few things from Roark and Byron. Despite their differences, at least Roark and Byron get along well than Melony and Gordie. I wish I get to see Gordie and Melony team up at the Galarian Star Tournament. Coincidentally, both Roark and Gordie are Rock-type specialists while their respective parents are the sixth Gym Leaders.

So after defeating the tower tycoon twice in single battles and defeating all those others in double just again battle the tower tycoon and his son, your rival. In what’s probably the hardest route in battling for Pokémon in any game, you defeat him a third time with special and emotional dialogue, you obtain…. A sticker. 😂

Alright, let me just say I love the teams they gave Mars and Saturn. Espeon’s a much better cat than Purugly could ever hope to be, Togekiss is bulky and adorable, Sharpedo is different for its Water type, and Tyranitar fits perfectly with Saturn’s recent penchant for setting up weather on the battlefield. Awesome little teams for two awesome commanders. ❤️💙

I felt pain when I saw you had dragon rush instead of claw, so many misses. Probably a more consistent move then attract would be protect. The ev spread on raikou was weird to have it be slower than Garchomp. This would've been very difficult to get here multiple times, congrats!

All gym leaders and the elite 4 have full 6 mon teams at competitive standard that you can rematch at their gyms.

Some of these pairings make sense, the others are basically pairing the spares. I especially appreciate the return of the Flint and Volkner combo, as well as the father-and-son duo, Bryon and Roark. And also the player's childhood friend/rival and his dad, the Tower Tycoon, Palmer. Out of the random ones, I feel like they mashed around Buck with one of the Sinnoh Elite Four, Bertha. Not sure the relation between both

If I had to guess, it's basically a young and old pairing. Bertha's probably one of the oldest characters in Sinnoh, while Buck is a hot shot that's still got room for growth.

Bertha is in the elite 4 like Flint and Buck is Flint's younger brother, Buck most likely met her via his brother and Buck's goal is to become the greatest trainer which means he's eventually gunning for an Elite 4 and potentially champion spot. So training alongside another E4 member is actually quite logical and Buck is the Defense and Special Defense trainer whose ace is a ground type, so if he was going to train alongside any E4 member (Flint not being available because he's with Volkner) Bertha makes the most sense. Bertha is a ground specialist who deals heavily in defensive pokemon.

Assuming Roark put max Attack in his Tyranitar, that's a lot of physical bulk on that Garchomp. Tanking two Ice Punches (even with the Yache Berry) is not easy. And Cheryl stupidly used Draco Meteor! This lucky guy.
