tbh i didn't like that beat switch too, but after a few listens it got better for me. jessi's "hEy DaWn, WhAt'S gOiNg On ?¿?" literally haunted me at 3am, so i had to listen to it more often 😔 buuut i really appreciate your honesty !! we really need more honest reactors like you !! :)

DAWN and Jessi are both under PSY’s label P Nation. With DAWN’s girlfriend HyunA also in the label. DAWN and HyunA used to be in another label (Cube) together but when they publicised their relationship they both got kicked out. And PSY being a g saw the potential in DAWN and obviously HyunA was already a big artist signed them in to the same label. There’re quite a few smart shoutouts in this song. “I’m psycho like PSY bro” referring to their boss “Bubble pop senorita always by my side” referring to HyunA’s song bubble pop, which tbh is the biggest flex ever (cuz HyunA is the ultimate kpop sexy icon) Jessi also refers to bubble pop Then she says “HyunA told her to make that booty drop” And not relating to P Nation Jessi also shouts out to JaeSeok who is the biggest tv show host in kr and they have a running meme when Jessi does sth outrageous he says “comon Jessi”

I think far more people like Jessi's part than dislike, judging from the MV comments. I actually think Jessi's part came in really well and is really catchy. The switch works for me as it keeps the song from getting too repetitive and therefore dull. That all said, I appreciate your honesty and like when reactors aren't blown away by every song they hear, even if I do like it. Everyone has different tastes. I, myself, dislike a ton of Kpop, particularly currently popular ones.

I love this song! Its so incredibly catchy. I get that some don't like the shift when Jessi comes in, but I personally love it. I think she is in it though, to generate interest and views. People know who she is, but not many know who Dawn is. I have noticed that many reactors are watching it because of Jessi but become interested and blown away by Dawn's talent. She wants him to shine in his song, so while she is in it, she doesn't want to overshadow him. This song is meant to be catchy and fun and to introduce Dawn to people. There are also so many fantastic personal references in it!

Personally I like her in it. I think the main reason she is in it though is to get people to check it out. Then, because Dawn is incredibly talented ...many have wanted to know more about him. I think she helped him to get noticed. A lot of reactors know who she is, but not who he is.

He used to be in a group called Pentagon. He was on a label called Cube. Hyuna, another artist, was on the label. They got involved with one another and the label was not having it. They kicked him out of the group and then kicked him and Hyuna out. This set them on the path to join Psy's lable PNation which also gobbled up Jessi. PSY is an artist in his own right and now he is building his own kingdom. It's exciting because PSY is giving his artists room to be creative and themselves.

Yeah... The switch killed it when I first heard it. I tend to just listen to Dawn's part and Jessi's part separately. But I slowly grew to accept the initial switch and stop the song right when Jessi's part finishes cause I agree that the hard impact of the initial rap beat it softened into a bit of a softer pop vibe. Ahhhh I was wondering if other people who reacted to this felt this way initially. Beat switches like that really mess up the vibe and energy I'm feeling when listening to a song. Similar to things like Charlie Puth's Betty Boop

Honestly I am 100% in agreement with how you felt about Messi part. I LOVE jessi she is one of very few female kpop idols I like.
