Having a bit of a rough patch right now (money wise, what else?), and this music helps me to calm down. Thanks. It will pass, but still... There are those unforeseen bumbs in the road that make you hit your head on the ceiling. Just a question (as you let in some high pitched dreamy sample at 07:53)... so that's recorded on tape as you play or is the tape included in the mixing process? (4 track, that's ancient stuff no?)

Sorry to hear that. I think a lot of people, including myself are struggling financially this year. This has been the worst year for me in years, so I can empathise with you! Fingers crossed it'll improve soon. I did all the improv. before this video, and recorded each of the parts onto the 4 track...4x mono tracks that all blend nicely with each other, then for the video I just perform it by mixing the levels in and playing with the pitch sometimes. This 4-track is pretty old, I believe it came out during the 90s. I owned a different Tascam 4-track during that time. They're quite noisy etc, but of course that's part of the appeal :)

@@stateazure Ah sorry! I just wanted to ask did you prepare the 4-track tape beforehand or did you somehow do it all live with looping?

@@softerseltzer Yeah it was pre-recorded. I made the tracks in the DAW first, and made a rough plan of how long I needed to record each part and then recorded all the parts onto 4 mono tracks for playback.
