The ONLY thing I can think is that, because there's a tiny-but-eager base that's been trying to get EA to just let them fork the game and make a version they can play, at the very least any assets that EA doesn't still have will be somewhere in the world, and now WOULD be a fantastic time to actually jump into the MOBA market. @Darkrezta Жыл бұрын
it's true to some extend, but dawn gate system will inevitably cut the toxicity down.
@toobig7150 Жыл бұрын
The issue with that logic it's that everyone on any given game haves a tiny bit of toxicity. So in theory all big games should be toxic but we know that's not the case. Its just that the big ones (mobas) are so out of touch with their community (specifically riot) that they do nothing to root out the real issue. For example riot seems to just want people to not be possible to communicate with each other at all, the chat it's impossible to use without getting a chat restriction, they completely removed the ability to use pings to communicate and also auto mutes you for pinging too much.

@@doomse150 I feel that you didn't read my comment, that's exactly what I said, in paper all games are toxic but not really. And that the other games on the genre get spot #2-#3 Its a fundamental issue in everything Moba genre does but also extremely exacerbated by what the devs (specially riot) do. Everyone its at least a tiny bit toxic but MOBAs it's a petri dish for toxicity, bringing the worst of even the most mellow people. Big games =/= toxic Mobas = toxic

More proof of why Dawngate would have won: League of Legends stole its artstyle for the map, and even some of the modern graphics for champions and effects. Also, they straight up just stole a character archetype from Mina and put it on Yuumi. They even more recently took Dawngate's "Haste" and watered it down to rework Ability Cooldowns. I have taken a break for ~4 years in dota, and I can confidently say that the toxicity is much less now than it used to be. It's still toxic, but it's getting much better

I am really happy to hear someone say good of Dawngate -or anything at all really. I liked the game. Hope we see similar at some point.

The fact that they canceled it and therefore AREN'T the light bringers almost had everyone in the first half.

:( Dawngate :( It's weird to see anyone talk about this game at all, it was so amazing. You even remind me of my favorite moba character Zalgus a bit.

the question of "which game company is the worst" EA genuinely seems like they're actively fighting for the title

The game came out in 2014, league had been out for 5 years and was already massive and growing even faster than ever. I played it for a bit and it taking over LOL is very optimistic.

Dawngate was an incredibly fun MOBA, it never got a chance to shine and I find myself thinking about what could have been every so often.

Oh man. I participated in Dawngate's CBT, and I loved playing it so much - it had a lot of fairly unique takes on the genre. I was really disappointed when I heard it was going to get the axe, and even more so when I've heard the reasons for it Also, nothing will ever surpass the power trip a Freya with full build gave you

I LOVED Dawn Gate. I played the guy with the goat. Still have it installed on my old laptop

Dawn gate was awesome. They had a system where people got levels for being nice. So you could just shit talk them, and everyone would be nice anyway and since you would lvl slower you could really grind it out. There were groups of people seeing how much you could lvl being as shit as possible

I just want command and conquer generals 2 back. That game had me the most excited for a game than I had been for just about all games and they killed it when it looked gougiouse and 95% complete.

Fully agree. I started playing Warcraft 1, 2 and 3. Then Dota came as a mod and we played a LOT in Lan houses. Imagine my sadness when I had to leave Dota after so many years.

Last time I played LoL i was playing Yuumi (Cat character that attaches itself to players on your team to provide buffs and healing). I attached myself to my carry and they threw a temper tantrum cause we were...winning our lane? Yet telling me to get off of them. They ran into jungle I stayed in my lane and our Jungler came in to be my new carry and me and the jungler were really chill and my entire team snapped at the guy. Never played that again.

Time to make a new Moba like Dawn Gate and implement anti-sheep measures to prevent toxicity.

Wow, I was a huge dota and league player 10 years ago and loved dawngate. There were so many Mona’s coming out and failing but dawngate me and my friends kept playing, just felt is was different yet balanced enough it was very good. Sad to hear this now

This is why I still gravitate towards single player games. I deal with toxic all day and night in the real world. I don’t need my unwind time to be toxic as well. If you need me I’ll be on fallout 4 or ff7
