I'm from Louisiana and my grandparents had a house that was surrounded by cane fields. We didn't own enough land to grow crops but it does make you think what if. I LOVE Queen Sugar because it reminds me of my youth and the importance of black people owning and buying land in a country we've invested so much into.

Loved the first Episode. I think that book that NOVA wrote is a cold cold piece of work. She looked like she was abandoning a baby as she was dropping off copies. I think it’s difference since Ernice- her dad- was dumped by his wife (nova and RA mom) BEFORE he got with Charlie’s mom. And he went back to his wife after they got divorced because he was still in love and when he did she got pregnant with RA so they stayed together. Charlie husband had a child while they were married that he hid from her with no intentions on EVER telling the truth but the baby momma died so he had no choice.
