Back when horror movies weren’t afraid to have a light hearted scenes instead of being a barrage of jump scares and grimdark moments.

Admit it, we'd all do this if we had a whole shopping mall to ourselves

I love the 2004 DOTD but damn this mall is a hell of a lot better then theirs. An ice rink, arcade, grocery store and your local gun store. Talk about your convenience.

In a zombie apocalypse, you can do everything you’ve always wanted to do.

I couldn’t imagine the crew had to clean up the mess before the mall open.

This grocery music is just awesome. Sentimental too. I see why "28 Days Later" payed homage (during their grocery run).

This is a great movie precisely because of these "decadent living" montages. Most of the time you wouldn't get these types of scenes because they would need to remind you again and again how everything was terrible and assumed you needed to see someone getting bitten or shot every few minutes. Allowing these moments to breathe, and of friendship and a laugh or two alongside the tension, makes you care.

I don't think the remake did this. They included the mall scene, but not them having fun.
@christophercarrasquillo526 Жыл бұрын
@@jeremyud The remake did have them having fun, but it wasn’t nearly as good as the original. It’s understandable because while the people in the remake weren’t outright trying to kill each other, they were just a bunch of small factions doing their own thing whereas in the original you see the characters work together and actually bond.

0:19-0:27 So funny that they still politely followed the marked way when they leave the bank after stealing money from the till.
@the9-2-5outlawgamer Жыл бұрын
And that was real money. Luckily nobody stole any of it even given the chance.

Ken Foree has the best laugh

He does, notice how when the biker gang shows up at the end to loot the mall, the one black guy looter grabs the money in the bank like Ken, but he throws it in the air unlike Ken, but sort of laughs, like Ken, interesting.

That's got to be the largest mall I've ever seen but is it a mall or a supermarket or both? Because if I find that mall one day during a zombie apocalypse and I think we are set for life then we can definitely turn that mall into a fortress

Until looters show up
@MGillDesign2 жыл бұрын
Yep, the should've detatched the trucks from their trailer/rigs to make them less mobile. Then also, keep a lookout for looters, and if looters show up, immediately shutdown the store gates, and cut off the power, so they can't shoot them (gates) open.

The Monroeville mall was massive for its time. But not all of the movie was shot there. There was no gun store for example.
@andresperez7476 Жыл бұрын
They had no one but to blame themselves for losing the mall 😫😆😟

All that paper was even more worthless. The food and bullets and guns would have made you rich in that situation, not paper money unless you needed it to start a campfire.
@Shanethefilmmaker Жыл бұрын
He was implying that maybe humanity will stablize to the point where $1 is worth billions. Plus it foreshadows Land of The Dead. Before Cholo's rebellion and Big Daddy's revolution, there were enclosed cities with a cash based Economy. Dennis Hopper tried to bolt with as much cash as he could carry.
