Nightmare We tried that in Vietnam, it didn’t work. Do you mean nuclear? Are the undead even affected by radiation? Why am emotionally invested in this? Why don’t I go outside for some fresh air and sunshine?

ActuallyCPOS They probably wouldn’t be harmed by radiation in any significant way... ...but they could certainly _become_ irradiated and carry the particles with them to contaminate wherever they go.
@ActuallyCPOS5 жыл бұрын
Cielo Pachirisu Did you just watch “Chernobyl” too, ha ha? Yes, that would also be a concern, I hadn’t thought about that. There’s a difference between a “clean” nuclear bomb designed for war and what they call a “dirty” bomb that just spews deadly radiation all over the place, like Chernobyl, but on a smaller scale. There’s also the “super-clean” neutron bomb, which does little damage to structures, it just kills every living thing within a certain radius with minimal radiation and dissipates fairly quickly. Gosh discussing this stuff is so fun, I might suddenly projectile-vomit at a meeting about how good my argument was. Excuse me...

While i love the original, the reason this one is more frightening is because the slow zombies in the original aren't scary or too threatening at all. The originals power is in its storytelling but this one is so fucking scary because of how catastrophic super running zombies would be.

Of all the clips in this intro, the scene with the truck driving toward the crowd of people hit me most. I know it is real-life footage, I don't know where from, and I don't know the real life context behind it. But the way it's used in this is almost perfect. It conveys suck a sense of urgency, desperation, and chaos on both the truck driver's and the crowd's side. The way it's used to portray a world gone utterly insane with fear and in the midst of its own apocalypse, being such a horrifying scene. Yet, its the fact that it's actual real life footage which makes it all the more believable in the context in which it's presented. May God have mercy on us all.

I know that this reply is 2 years late but the clip of the truck hitting the crowd is from the May 1998 riots in Indonesia for the full clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHqcaHdqqbKdbZIsi=s2wHirqZhIUuOnL5&t=748

@Justmyhandle5 жыл бұрын
One of the BEST zombie movie intro's EVER imo, the visual of bleeding credits is particularly creative. While the concept of combining seemingly randomized news footage with unsettling music was nothing new, the execution sells it. My 3 favorite moments: *1)* The press speaker replying "We don't know" to almost every question, especially whether these people are alive or dead, implying a deep desperation & frustration at his inability to offer any answers or reassurance. *2)* The shot of the crowd praying, such a powerful image and a way of instantly asserting the seriousness of the situation. It needs no dialogue or effects to convey how thoroughly and widely s*** has indeed hit the fan globally. *3)* Johnny Cash's "The Man Comes Around". It's just a perfect song to me for the end of the world, a simple but catchy rhythm to contrast the eerie lyrics and reflection upon what we're seeing onscreen. The ending-static is effective as well.
