There’s a pause before dad snaps. There’s a fraction of a moment where it seems like a decision is made or forced to be made in the infected. Let’s not talk about the dad and mom scene. Don wasn't a coward, he was human. His wife made him open the door to the child, despite his better judgement. She then ran after the child after Don had fought off several infected already. When he tried to pull her towards their exit, she chose to go after the child again and sealed her own fate. Don had lost his weapon at this point, and facing an infected completely unarmed is simply suicide. He did the only thing he could and ran. Had he stayed he would 100% have gotten infected and left his kids as orphans. People don't like to hear it, but in that moment he made the right decision and pretty much the only one he could. His wife made some really stupid decisions that cost her.

I think the biggest issue i draw from most zombie/infected movies is how stupid they think the military actually is. The military wont get called in until its time to destroy everything. None of these movies even attempt to take military tactics into consideration they all show the slow 5 man squad walking down a street and thats not even remotely what theyd do. Nor would they set up indefensible base's in the middle of a street. The set up in 28 days later of the few troops who took them in before trying to rape them is closer to what theyd set up but itd be done with a platoon and theyd sweep areas with multiple tightly packed units not 3-5 men walking down a street. Not to mention if it was so bad that they couldnt fight it at ground zero they would pull back to the most defensible positions and let the disease spread to them where they could stop it.

The one thing the Rage Virus zombies have going against them is that they're technically not undead, so normal gunfire and wounds would kill them like a normal person and you wouldn't need to dismember or decapitate them like a typical zombie, but their heightened strength, reflexes, and speed and the rapid rate of Rage infection still makes them significantly more dangerous than a traditional zombie would be.

I will always defend Don. People who think he couldve superman his way out are fucking stupid. For one he had kids who were alive to live for. Two infected were pouring into the house and he alone with bare fist cant take them all on with out infection. Three his stupid wife could have followed but decided not to.
@artisticbang91114 жыл бұрын
@@thatsnodildo1974 we can't call his wife stupid, I have family members that are emotionally fragile and will prefer to sit and cry despite how dire the situation was. It's not that they are stupid really, they just can't adopt quickly. I don't blame Don too. I would run like hell but cry later. What really bothered me is Directors from how they made him very dumb as a person but more smarter as an infected individual.

Unpopular Opinion: Don was not bad for "ditching" his wife. He did everything he could to help her beforehand. She let her emotions get in the way, wanting to save the boy that was perfectly hidden & wasn't thinking of getting back to her own kids. She got that poor boy killed because she had a we-need-to-save-them-all type of complex. Instead of logically thinking, "They haven't found this boy. He's in a safe hiding spot. I need to survive for my own children." She thinks, "Theres a boy. I'm gonna get him! A plan? What's that? Stealth? Never heard of it! My kids? Meh." She was then, obviously, surrounded by the Infected & immediately began crying out to Don. What was he supposed to do with no weapon? Ask them nicely to leave her alone? Die with her & leave their innocent kids without them, thus meaning they'd have even lower chances of survival? Besides, say he did convince her to leave the boy. She was suicidal. She probably wouldn't have had a clear head later on, thinking about the boy she feels she let die & could have easily gotten her entire family killed.

You should always have a bug bag set to go. Basic camping gear and tools for making fire and fighting common illnesses. Get to a roof or top floor that can’t be climbed up to without a ladder. You could also try to flee to a remote location, maybe even sleeping in trees with a gun or bow to pick off any wandering infected. Since they seem to generally calm down and hide in the daytime you could easily collect enough supplies. It’s honestly shocking that in 28 days later they didn’t stay at the penthouse. The dad, with the increased manpower of two more adults, could have easily fortified the defenses and collected months worth of non-perishable food and cases of water bottles. Obviously he had been afraid to leave his daughter alone before and wasn’t in a great spot. One of the major rules of survival is to stay put if there is no immediate threats to your health. I mean they pop on over to the damn supermarket like it’s grocery day. They could have been sitting up in a nice comfy apartment sipping whiskey and watching movies. It’s also just kind of silly that the military couldn’t contain the infection. Armored vehicles are very infection resistant and soldiers could be dropped by helicopter to rooftops with supplies and start blasting. Why were those sniper positions so easily accessed by a bunch of mindless rage filled killing machines? Still one of my favorite “zombie” franchises.
@fromnorfolkwithlove3 жыл бұрын
They still had their own kids to get to . And besides Don already fought for them. He bought them time and already sacrificed his self bought he actually survived literally fighting like 2/3 of those things in close combat. So everyone else just sucks he was done carrying the team.

There is an actual story they could base it on. There is a very creepy legend in England that has some historical evidence for it, there was an event called 'the Revenant' in Medieval England that scholars of the time actually wrote about, apparently the dead came back to life and attacked the living. Of course, the dead didn't actually come back as zombies but there may well have been some kind of rabies outbreak, or something, that turned people mad like in 28 days later.

In regards to how I’d survive, my family has a large stockpile of food and water, several firearms, some bows, and somewhere pretty far in the countryside to flee to. The hordes are a lot less scary when there’s a lot less people in their numbers.
@caldw6154 жыл бұрын
A lot of people's first instinct to something like this would be to try retreat into the countryside to avoid cities. So there's a good chance you'll encounter people with hoards of infected sprinting after them eventually.
@kaynesylvar82774 жыл бұрын
Cal DW fortunately for me, Texas has a lot of countryside. In a zombie plague, we’d probably get paranoid and start shooting everyone who would trespass on our property. We have fences, lots of trees to climb should that become necessary, we could start a wildfire in the brush if all was lost... even if we’d go, we’d take the whole horde (and most of the Southwest) with us...

Oh come on. I think the Rage virus would be much easier to shut down completely than Covid-19 is proving to be, because it's a much greater threat to humanity than Covid. For instance, the Rage virus has almost no incubation period, has VERY recognizable and specific symptoms, and is 99.95% going to kill anyone infected with it and .05% going to turn them into a symptomless carrier. Compare that to Covid-19, which has up to a 2 week incubation period, has symptoms associated with a variety of other illnesses and therefore can be mistaken as such, and has so far shown to kill just over 2% of people infected with it.
@petergant87673 жыл бұрын
And, it's not like we've NEVER had a pandemic before! The Spanish Influenza was kicking ass and taking names, around the world! It wasn't even as communicable as the rage virus! And those with Spanish Influenza weren't coming at you, at a flat out run! Don't get me started on The Bubonic Plague, taking out 75% of the population of Europe, at its height!
