Dawn’s Mini, Blinker switch short. Flasher can burnt out, Chris Mckie tracing an over load

Looking for a no operation of the blinker system & found the original flasher unit internally failed.
Tracing an overload in the blinker system that is burning out flasher can’s.
When the ignition is switched on with the flasher can plugged in, The fuel pump can be heard pulsing erratically & the ignition light erratically flashing, perform short to ground test & found a dead short at the switch & cooking the flasher can, the first flasher unit is burnt out from the over load & the second unit is damaged.
