Living in the UK there are many great country singers we have never heard of. I have just discovered Dawn Sears (after 40 years in country music as a steel player) and think she is great. Thanks for the post. It's always nice to learn something new

I had no idea this beautiful, sweet lady was in ill health, brings tears to my eyes that I didn't make it to Nashville to hear her sing "Sweet Memories". When I first heard the tune and heard her voice. about 5 years ago, I was overwhelmed at the beauty of her voice and the song. I believe this will be heard and played for years to come, just one of those rare recordings that many artists hope will come along for them. I was Entertainment Director for Doc Severinsens in OKC, ok for many years in the 80's and in Nashville for meetings and events bit I didn't know about her talent. Makes me wonder what the labels were thinking to let YOUR talent go! Dawn Sears, may you rest in peace and know that you are still loved by many and that wonderful voice will be heard for years to come. YOU WERE THE REAL DEAL!! Linda Freeman, Tulsa. Oklahoma

The steel guitar instrumental is just exquisite, that "feel" comes with age like fine wine and years of experience that John Hughey had in playing just what is needed to compliment the song perfectly ......we all know what a great steel player is.... John Hughey.

My world is like a river as dark as it is deep Night after night the past rolls in and it gathers all my sleep My days are just an endless stream of emptiness to me Filled only by the fleeting moments of his memories Sweet memories Those Sweeeeeeet memories, ewwwwww .....music..... He slipped into the silence of my dreams again last night Just Wondering from room to room turning on each light His laughter, spills like water from the river to the sea Lord I'm swept away from sadness, I’m clinging to his memories Sweet memories Those Sweeeeeeeet memories, ewwwww Ewwwwwwwww Sweet memories

Singing is one of God's gifts to a chosen few. Dawn got her share. Carrie actually has a good voice. Heard her cover one of Patsy Cline's classics. The songs labeled country today are crap.

I like the original by Andy Williams better she tries to add to much when she is singing the chorus. Where as it flows smooth as silk from Andy.
@karenanderson596210 жыл бұрын
Wrong key for Andy....too high...I've never heard him reach like he does. Sounds like he doesn't own the song at all but reading the lyrics as he goes.
@terryofford49776 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what is meant by this comment, Andy Williams,whilst good indeed, he is simply no match to this girls Tone, Diction, strength of voice, timing and everything else which affects the emotions of the listener. So sad that outside of the USA, we rarely hear this beautiful style of music, far too much of the' two chord' three note wonder stuff with some silly bird screaming in agony whilst trying to stuff the Mike up her nose. Trouble is again, the record companies of course, same attitude used against the authentic New Orleans style Jazz. Crass ignorance and Dollars are the cause I believe.Terry Offord.
