Do you always leave a scoring blade in the trimmer or do you change them out or use a different cutter? It looks like the blade and the scoring blade are on both on the trimmer. is this correct?

This is so cool! I luv it! but I have a question: If I want to make a smaller version of it would it still turn out the same way if I cut all the measurements down by 1.1/2?
