She needs mana management in the early game, other than that. She’s like the offlane carry, the problem is that most teams expect the offlaner to be the initiator, but dawn is more of a counter initiator because she have a global ulti

Correct. Offlaners are most often seen as initiators, and Dawn would indeed prefer to counter-initiate if she able. It's all game dependant though Winning pubs games (solo anyway) becomes a lot about adjusting to how your team plays, even if it isn't ideal.

She's so much fun, but as with a lot of offlaners, communication with the team is really important. Being able to splitpush the map while still being a threat is really nice, but if your team isn't aware of this playstyle it can lead to a very passive game. Also, her role in the game isn't a hard initiator like many other offlaners, so she falls flat in games where your team has no obvious way of starting fights. She kinda thicc tho

It's possible to make do once you have a blinkdagger, but yes, your preferred way of engagement is through your ulti when applicable. That said, it's very often that people will find themselves in hairy situations where you're able to turn it around if you're observant. Most of my triple kills with Dawn in recent games has come from acknowledging me going in to save an ally wouldn't get me killed. She do be kinda thicc tho.

You progress much in the same fashion as you would otherwise. Nyx is a counter that's rather specific to Dawnbreaker due to how he functions by being able to globally stun her in return - while Silencer just about counters every hero in the roster to a certain extent. It's more so about how you play around them as opposed to how you build. Before you make landfall, make sure Nyx isn't trying to spike you, and if Silencer global ults you everytime before you have a chance at ulting in, then you'll have to show up physically to those important fights without using your ult.

I like the idea for your skill build, overall i stand convinced about dawnbreaker being a strong hero. However, I'm not really sold on the starting items. I've always been against starting with stick+qb as it is way too greedy and any good duo will recognise that and punish it. I think there might actually be merit to start with double tangos, qb and branches/gauntlets working towards the first bracer+phase+wand. Apart from that, I'm convinced. Gonna try her pos 2 in my games.

I don't say never a lot - but there's NEVER a need to start with 6 tangoes in 7.34. You have your own courier, and if your team picks up two runes, you're able to ferry another pair of tangoes immediately. Even if they don't pick up the runes, there's no way you can burn through 3 tangoes faster than your passive income, even without last hits, will give you enough to buy 3 more. By buying stick, you're constantly earning value by storing up HP/MP - something you gain a lot more from than passive tangoes not actively being in use on your hero. Choice is yours, of course. I'm a content creator and coach that promote free-thinking and decision making at all times - all I can give you are the numbers.

Are you buying a soul ring? I find that I always lack mana, even with a soul ring. But I cannot imagine a build without some mana giving item. Great video, she is fun.

A patch ago I played a lot of Dawn and I absolutely LOVE soul ring on her. The downside of soul ring is the HP loss, but with luminosity, you gain it back so easily. I know a lot of people aren't fond of soul ring anymore since it used to be cheaper, but I think the increase in farming speed is well worth the cost on Dawn. I tried with other builds for mana regen, like rain drop, falcon blade, fast orchid, clarity, echo saber etc. but I found soul ring to be most effective.

I personally don't go for soulring - It's possible to stay at a relatively healthy amount without it. That said, given that you don't need to rush blink on her as badly as other offlaners on her, you can easily slot it in if you so desire.

Maxing Q has become insanely strong after the castpoint change in 7.34 - Try it out, see how it feels! Like I stated, maxing hammer still remains viable, due to it's numbers just being that good, with both the slow and damage provided. 👌

It's pretty damn big, yeah. It affords you much more luxury on how to counter BKB heavy cores. If you have an aghanims on her, and enemy core tries to BKB and port to base for safety, you can literally stun him globally.

@@Kyubashi u should have known the hammer is for mobility. And her 1 is not really that strong until she has shard and damage anyway. Armlet on her is straight up bad. Blademail or Echo/Deso is always better. Because Echo is gonna get upgraded to Harpoon.
