I suggest you start cooking. The benefits are insanely good, especially when it comes to stamina. Also, make sure to talk to villagers randomly, because some of them can give you Weapons of Miracles weapons if you complete their quests, but a lot of them need you to go to the nether to complete them.

You haven’t tried this yet but combining the gems and putting them on your armor/weapon is real fun. There is also upgrades for the katana with the mob drops from those weird mouth creepy monsters and skeleton two eyes alien thing. If upgrade enough damage can go up to 20+

Are you playing on a difficulty setting that is easier than "easy"? this fire giant you faced have practically no damage. With his current set it would be impossible to face him in "normal" mode
