Stupenda recensione Antonio! Come sempre!!! Sai che a me piace?!? Secondo te è migliore dell'ormai vecchiotto Boss RT-20?
@gilmouring3 жыл бұрын
Grazie mille Roby!

Came to see Pulse and liked Crimson!
@gilmouring3 жыл бұрын
It's a great pedal! Ine of the best Sovtek replicas I ever tried! Inspired by the Red Army Overdrive it's very close to the Civil War. There's a video about it on the channel! Cheers!
@franknguitars76713 жыл бұрын
it sounds good (and, as always, I very much enjoyed your playing Toni - the best demo of this pedal so far!) but in my opinion, mono in, stereo out is a major design flaw. What if I have my beloved stereo delay in front? For me it is a pass. I have a vent and an RT-20 that give me what I want and they both do stereo in-stereo out. On an unrelated note - I liked the sound of the JHS Crimson very much.
@s.barreto87003 жыл бұрын
The current version has a TRS stereo input.
@franknguitars76713 жыл бұрын
Ah, I missed that!, thanks!
@gilmouring3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Yes, as I said in the video, now they have TRS input. But still think it's not worth the money. If you want an upgrade of the RT-20 there's the MD-200. Gonna review it in september... The Crimson is an excellent Civil War (actually Red Army Overdrive) clone. Very very tasty!

@@gilmouring I should have listened more carefully to what you said Toni - apologies! I think I am all set with rotary pedals. The Vent just rules. Keep up the great work!

Another great demo! But I don't get this pedal though: it is very expensive, and it misses the mark in terms of functions as it does not have a 'tone' control for bass/horn section. Plus, I have read of many defective units which had to be sent back to get fixed.
@gilmouring2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I didn't want this pedal because IMHO the mix knob was defective... By the way my friend who lent me the unit, said it didn't change anything after the fix. Anyway for the type of pedal and the features I agree that it's too expensive. I think the Neo Micro (or nano I don't remember the names...the smallest one 😂) could be the solution. We'll see.

would it make sense to have this after reverb? as it is a speaker simulation. Great video :)
@gilmouring2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, absolutely! I actually used a similar approach in the video. Although I had the torpedo CAB M (with its reverb) running after, because it made more sense to me (because I use the XLR output). Anyway keep in mind that also when using IRs it's very common to add modulations and ambient fx after the speaker simulation. As always there ain't no rules! :) Cheers!

I bought one at launch and I really love this pedal. To me it’s sound nice even at slow speed. It’s quite different from a Leslie, but that's the point. How did you manage the firmware update, Tony? Great playing, btw. 🎸
@gilmouring3 жыл бұрын
I sent the pedal to Dawner Prince! They offered to install the update. The owner had to pay the shipping though!

Hi Tony. Is it a good idea to mix analog pedals with multi effects processors? Analog pedals for comp/OD/ distortion while multi effects processor for modulation/delay/reverb?
@gilmouring3 жыл бұрын
Hi! That's a good question! Let's start saying that nothing is a mistake as long as you're satisfied with the result. My opinion is that it's not an issue as long as the multi FX has high quality AD/DA converters. Nowadays digital machines has reached incredible quality, most of them are still affordable. So you just have to choose! Hope it helps! Bye!

Salut Tony bien belles interprétations moi je préfère la RT20
@gilmouring3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Christian! The RT-20 is very very plastic in my humble opinion, the CMOS technology is really old. But still...de gustibus non disputandum est (Personal taste is not to dispute) 😄👍🏻🎸

Both have defects. We can say that the PULSE is more natural. So if there wasn't any alternative I would go for it. But as a matter of fact there are alternatives. And this pedal is too limited. So for more versatility I'll get a Neo Micro Vent... I'm selling some pedals now to make room (and money) for that :) (And a couple of PastFX pedals)
@Twylightt2 ай бұрын
@@gilmouringhave you try the neo micro vent122, for pulse tones, very good?
@gilmouring2 ай бұрын
@Twylightt I want to try it but damn I couldn't find the guts to actually buy it! I'm selling a few pedals. As soon as I get the money I'll feel more like buying the Vent!
@Twylightt2 ай бұрын
Yoy think a good flanger, like retro-sonic can simulate the pulse tone Lex Rover?
@gilmouring2 ай бұрын
@@Twylightt honestly I don't think so. Yes the flanger can give you that kind of chorus tone when you close the feedback. But the Maestro Rover to me has a darker sound a bit like Doppolas, while the mistress should roll off some of the low end... Maybe an alternative can be the HX One. They added the Yamaha RA200. If you set that one and roll off the tone you should be pretty close.. And you could use the pedal for a lot of other stuff while you're not using it as rotary 😉
