Here are some of my tips I used while savage raiding this expansion. - Bard has the interesting quirk that they do not really mind which order to use weapon skills or when their party wide buffs go out other than Raging Strikes. This makes you very flexible in a static group, as you can easily adjust to when your burst will start. Check if your static perfer to start their haymakers on 2nd, 3rd or 4th global. - Repelling Arrow might not be good, but it is a great tool for "i need to get out now". Use it to get to the edge of an area quick. One good example is Photon Cannon on M4S, as you only get a split second to react to if you have to move left or right. Bad example is wall bosses, never repelling arrow on a wall boss. - I time my 1 minute bursts in such a way that I plan to use Apex Arrow, Sidewinder and Iron Jaws around the 21s mark during Mages Ballad. I will use Apex whenever my Soul Gague reach 100 or I reach that timer. This also makes it a good point to use a pot if you have to use a odd minute pot, especially if you build up a few Heartbreak Shots. - If you want a thumbrule to follow for your songs, I think of it as 3-3-12. You start your next song along those timers. Then you can also use the advanced openers with the same lingo (3-6-9 being the most famous I think?)

I don't seem to have enough experience to understand why you wouldnt use Repelling Arrow vs a Wall Boss (I'm assuming this means big stationary bosses like Zodiark/Zeromus and the like). Mind giving an explanation?

@@TheKeyblader133 Exactly! Any boss that is stationary at one of the edges of the area would count. The problem is that you cannot get a good angle to jump away from, as you would either be sent middle or out of the area, non really benefit you.

4:00 can't overstate how important it is to stand at least somewhat near the party as a ranged DPS. if you're at maximum range (25y) and the tank is at maximum melee range (3y) on the other side of the boss (at least a few yalms across), then it's literally impossible to get everyone into a standard 15y radius heal. If they have to dedicate a single-target heal for you, it'll come late if at all. Most arenas are about 40y across, I think, so it's often enough to just not stand at the edge - but sometimes mechanics will require everyone to group up (stacks or donuts) or to run further apart than they started (chains) so it's usually good to just put everyone in a clump at melee range.

Those saying that dot snapshot didn't exist may have mistaken this for a different game, since other mmos (wow for instance) got rid of such a feature years ago! 😊 I hope you enjoy bard!

They simply removed the need for a target. But in it's place, they removed the ability to use the songs out of combat. That might sound weirdly roundabout but essentially before dt you could cast wanderers minute as your opening action for entering combat, for instance! 😊

13:05, wouldn’t it be better to have army’s paeon for the full duration instead of mage’s ballad? Mage’s ballad always has the same dps, but army’s paeon reaches its max dps after like 20 seconds with the 4 stacks thing. I could be wrong though.

By the time you unlock heartbreak shot at 92, mages ballad gets a massive boost in power that is more significant. Before dawntrail, mages ballad was considered the weaker of the two, and longer army's paeon was preferred as it was sliiightly better. However the power difference as I recall isn't very big, and learning one way and then another can make it a lot harder to get it right at max level 😊 Also, even if it takes army's a while to wind up, doesn't mean that it's peak potential beats mages ballad just because it is more of a flat line! 🤔😊

@dragondanyar9508 pretty much. Although it is possible paeon is stronger below level 92. Although I recall bloodletter also got a potency boost with dawntrail so that might not apply either. My advice is to stick with the strategy in the guide so you don't mess with muscle memory too much! 😊

mages is indeed stronger than paen under 92, so you can follow the basic 3-3-12 song rotation is any level range (now, Im unsure if 3-6-9 is comparatively as good at lower levels, as leveling and even MINE hard content don't requiere that level of min maxing, and ultis tend towards wacky song timings because of downtime)
