I'm not even remotely religious, but I've watched quite a few of these "pastor reactions" out of curiosity in how this would be received by religious people due to the language and the general nature of the song. You are the first pastor I've seen break down this song with understanding, and empathy for what he is feeling, and the questions he has. Wow. I love the reaction. So deep and thought out. I was raised Catholic, and I still am. I'm by no means the best. You have validated a lot of feelings for me. It made me cry. It's refreshing to me, so many people I've seen, seem to not believe in a way i do, if that makes sense, the way i was taught. You have that. You really opened me back up, thank you. I just saw your video from two weeks ago. About Dax on “ Dear God”. And you said something that really caught my eye. You said that when you become a child of god, that you become part of the church that you become the church. And that right there and not o lot of people can’t seem to understand that, not even believers. And I really respect that

8:15 you said he's pouring out his heart, but if I know any artist, they hold back. They don't truly express themselves because if they did it would only appear as despair. Dax here expresses anguish, anxiety, PTSD, despair, sadness, anger, and most of all: Love. It seems counterintuitive but this song feels like it was made because Dax loves God so much, but still has so many unanswered questions and it's not God that's angering him. It's the unanswered questions that vex him to his heart. It's a beautiful testimony really; the emotion that Dax is feeling in this song is too much to hold back, even though if you just listen to him he's holding back a lot of emotion. Even when he "lets out" that emotion in a cry to God, he's holding back. That sends chills down my spine every time I hear this song, and Dax yells "DEAR GOD! DO YOU HEAR ME?!" showing that how even though he's shouting for help he still feels unheard. And yet we know that God's voice is like a whisper, not a roar. So, God hears our whispers. Our screams and cries and shouts are heard. Everything we say is heard. Everything we think, is known. A portion of Psalm 139: "Before a word is on my tongue, you know it, O Lord." The Psalmist, David, writes here that God knows everything we're going to say even if we don't say it. Which means we don't get to keep anything from God, and He STILL loves us to our core. That is something that we cannot parallel on Earth.

Everything you said at the end of the video is exactly what i needed to hear. I'm a Christian. I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. Went to church almost every Sunday until a couple years ago. I have been putting something besides God. first in my life. I have no doubt that God will not give up on me. I thank God for bringing me to your channel. I know what i have to do and will pray and pray for God to increase my faith and move me to read the scriptures. This reaction was my first time hearing this song. All I can say is wow.. this was extremely powerful. I’ve always questioned what the purpose of life is.. With all the wars, diseases, hate, dying kids, and so much evil.. I believe God exists. But it’s honestly hard to believe he is someone i should worship. So many people live their lives exactly the way God wants them to, but they still suffer worse than people who do the complete opposite. Why is that okay?

thank you for all you said. i am someone that has struggled with religion for most of my life. i was not raised in a religious house. some times i feel i am being punished for that. maby because i cant seem to find the right church to help with my questions. every church i have been to have told me im wrong for asking the hard questions. that drove me away from from church. i still believe in god but i am so lost. hopefully i can find someone that can talk to me about those hard question instead of shunning me for "being blasphemous or evil" which i have been called too many times from pastors and breacher and so many more.

Religious trauma is a very real thing... It's enough to really build up walls... I grew up in a church my entire life, I never knew anything different. I always felt off or just never felt close like everyone else said I should. Then trauma happened... Really changed my world, my view or perspective....

Remember the time I was alone and in the dark thinking God had left me to wonder on my own but when I spoke to Him after visiting a church that was closed I said “great now you have business hours? I need you and you won’t come to me so I go to you but it’s after 430 God has gone home” and literally as I was walking back to my truck a voice came into my mind saying “you seek me and face one obstacle and give up? And I’m suppose to come to you?” Went next door and found a another church and a pastor who brought Jesus back into my life

Their music is not mainstream and just because of that they are not promoted but criticized. Yes, these are normal human emotions. It's how we were designed. I believe God loves these questions because they are a show of faith at their core. You don't question and argue with people and things that you dont believe exist.

I have given up on the church. I was never helped by the many I went to, only torn down. Not rich enough to give that ten percent of your income to them without leaving your bills unpaid? Oh, you just don't have enough faith! Volunteer your time because they need workers? "Works won't get you into heaven!" Just forget the part of The Word that says, "Faith without works is dead"! Ask questions that they're uncomfortable with? "Just go read your Bible". It's been nothing but a heartbreaking journey throughout my life. I don't hate God, and it's so very hard to love an absentee parent, but I have a severe distaste for those that claim to speak in His name, while doing everything they can to break you down. Just so your guilt for being a human will keep you handing them that money, so that you'll keep doing those works, while constantly reminding you that you're never good enough for God, no matter what. I swear, they forgot the lesson that Jesus was the perfect lamb, the perfect sacrifice. They forget that Jesus took a strap to the money changers on the doorstep of the temple, and threw their tables over because money was all that they cared about. Give them your money, they'll give you the "Lamb". Hell is waiting for those that can't pay their way in. Money for salvation. It's really disturbing to see the continuation of a practice that Jesus despised.

I think you missed the point. He's questioning not just human beings but the Bible itself and religion. All of it! It's all made by man, and each individual tries to push their personal views, whether they want to admit it or not, rather than just doing the right thing. And I do believe God fears man. My only issues with the questions is bc ppl use for the argument against, as if God is going to just speak directly to someone or make everything fair and paradise for all. I got very lucky and God came to me at my lowest looking at death, I used to damn God literally n everything n in minutes my whole perspective changed 1 night read a little of the devil's Bible while looking into the Illuminati n stuff n a passage said a demon was going to visit you n test, but lil later let my dog out but heard howling from every direction n crap, first time seen dog scared, crazy ass doberman lol Kobe my bff, but after howls a massive bang nearby, the feelings it gave me, can't even explain...but I knew things about the bible I nvr knew, just yeah, next five days I couldn't eat anything, I spent all days sleeping, crying and reading the entire Bible. Which the dog ended up with a form of leukemia with sores all over body, I prayed harder than ever, he somehow got well, vet called the miracle dog, n they didn't even know about the prayer, then was a period I couldn't see him, my brother was bringing him to me n half way his nose started pouring blood all over his truck, went for awhile even after seeing me, I got him back but couple yrs later it came back. So many other stories could tell, like my first tattoo was a cross on my throat saying He died for us horizontal and I live for him vertical. Very long story short nothing could ever ever make my faith waiver at all, at all. Which doesn't mean I think heaven is guaranteed. Just really difficult for me to understand how someones faith could come into question if an actual believer...just doesn't make sense, which I like Dax n the song n everything Js it's a concept if nvr understood

I am a pagan but I have family that is Christian and I do incorporate Jesus worship in my faith. Jesus seems awesome but after reading the Bible I had so many questions about the Christian God.
