Great cover. The original is by Reverend Gary Davis, one of the best guitarists that ever lived. He was a blind bluesman that played mainly country blues and ragtime. He taught some of the best prewar blues guitarists, such as Blind Boy Fuller, which is a master of the guitar in his own right. Blind Boy Fuller coined the phrase 'keep on truckin' with his song written in 1937 "Truckin' My Blues Away". A little history in blues .

Could you imagine Dax and Jerry Cantrell just doing one song together??? I might just have to check out after hearing it! I love Layne’s voice, but that could be the slow droning acoustic song of the apocalypse! A guy can dream, right?

You would do yourself a favor to find out about the Reverend Gary Davis. He was very talented and inspired many blues guitarists of 60s and 70s.

Listening to this song, I wouldn't be surprised at all if a masked bandito walked up to me and we both drew our six-shooters. 'Course, he'd draw first, but I'd draw first blood.

He desperately needs someone to write music for him. The power chord route has about worn itself out.

In his own way Ahe reminds memuch of Nick Drake.With Nicks unusual neautiful playing he woove such meaning and feeling into his songs,His vocals,were fair,but together brilliant.Daxhas a simple way of playing,but his Vocals are so unique and strong,one is pulled in in instantly,He is a one of a kii d unique,very talented singer,song writer.I compare all vocals to his.Just cannot help iit!
@nataliemoore26733 жыл бұрын
He doesn't need that ol guitar anyway. Yeah his vocal is golden and stands on it's own. I just think it's so cool that he plays the guitar now. I loved Daximus with Agents of Oblivion. They nailed the sound so well, musically perfectly accompanying his golden voice. Now it's like not fair to the guitar to be accompanying him. 💜⚡💜
