Totally agree. A country can keep these things in central storage (or in hubs) for efficient maintenance, but then deploy them anywhere in a matter of hours by just flying the module in a Chinook and then plugging it onto a truck, or ... a train!.

That basically is already what the HIMARS is. The HIMARS is the rocket launcher, the truck carrying it, isn't anything special, it's just an FMTV truck that usually carries cargo.

It is also important to remember that having a strong military is no only meant for war, but often also deters war from ever occurring. All of our defense industry is done by copying and with the help of other countries." That's the way you think because those who understand very well in you say it, but none of them know shit. My advice to you is to visit the websites of our companies such as ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, KALE, BAYKAR and even look at KZbin videos. Thousands of our engineers are working. Yes, it is good to benefit from and be inspired by other platforms, but it is definitely not a copy: In fact, they impose such an embargo on us that if we had the opportunity, our own warplane would already be in the sky. But our metallurgical technology is advancing. Although the embargo slowed it down, it worked for us in the long run. It's easy to imagine what you would do if they didn't give you a 1500 hp engine for your tanks. Europe's support has always been with you. France and India support you all the way. @@scorpioraptor 1st: You deserve the Embargo, you and your politicians brought it upon themselves so dont use it as an excuse to whine about. 2nd: Its very hard or even next to impossible for a country to develop a new technology 100% by itself, Turkeys weapons systems, while good and functional and battle tested (which is very important) are not 100% Turkish. You fall victim of you own propaganda so easily, sensors, cameras and stuff, especially before the Embargo, were all imports from other countries, turkey just build the shell of the drone and assebled it. 3rd: Altay is basically a Turkish version of North Koreas K2 - Black Panther. 4th: I dont talk down to the defense industry of Turkey, any Greek who studies his enemy would actually respect the effords of your industry, i would even say that its progress is substansional, although, developing a stealth fighter? Comon... 5th: You are the ones who always talk down to others and make fun of them, but, look at whats happening in Ukraine right now... A simple comsumer grade drone can be used as a 100k weapon, undectecable, silent and destructive enough to take out a freaking tank. Those drones that you call toys, will be much more effective than any other high altitude UAV. Especially over the Aegean Sea, which is protected from Anti Air systems in all of its expansive area... A Bayraktar is basically waiting to be shot down the moment it crosses the border. And as someone who lives very close to the border, where news travel from mouth to mouth very fast, i could say stuff here that will dissapoint you, but they gonna get me to prison for that hahaha.
