I'm super thankful about the opp to be part of this summit. I'm learning a lot, I'm a Barf lover, I try to "convert" Pet owners to raw everyday. Best regards from Chile.

My Kelpie is not quite 9 months old, and already he's exhibiting a natural tendency to eat one meal a day from mid to late afternoon. If I offer him half his daily ration in the morning, he quite often ignores it and would rather lay down and chew a bone. The great thing with this dog is he shows no sign of wanting to overeat. When I first switched him to raw, I wasn't sure how much to give him. I've been pleasantly surprised to see I've been overestimating slightly. That makes it even more affordable to give him quality raw food. I actually pay less per kilo for what I now feed him than what it costs per kilo for the premium kibble/air-dried meat mix I was buying before. While I agree that kibble is a shocking thing to make the major food source for dogs over extended periods, I don't demonise anybody that does give their dog some from time to time, as long as it can be supplemented with other foods. Just go with the best you can afford and make sure that the first four or five ingredients are animal meat product and not wheat, corn etc.

I feed my Kelpie beef rib bones. They're great because they comprise a bit of meat, fat, and cartlidge as well as the bone. I don't give my dog big, weight bearing leg bones, but I do boil them up and make a beef broth. I then cut as much meat, gristle, cartlidge, and gelatinous tissue from the cooked bone. If I make a big saucepan of broth, I take out the bone and keep simmering the liquid until it's reduced by half to two-thirds. I let it cool, skim most of the fat off, and then pour it into ice cube trays and pop them in the freezer. I then add one or two of these beef concentrate cubes to my dog's meal.

Besides not giving cooked bones to dogs, it's also a good idea not to let the bone sit around in the sun for any longer than a day or two. A bone left in the sun in warm weather quickly dries out and becomes as hard and brittle as if it were cooked.

About the question of the soil: if your plants are thriving, then your soil is fine. If they start to get sick or a lot of clover appears, it shows a a differentiation in the ph of the soil. Think about in starting a compost with worms or EM ( micro- organisms). It enrichens the soil

😢 I’m not sure where to submit my questions. I allowed the full mouth extraction of all my cat’s teeth a little over a year ago. He was dying from complications of stomatitis. He is now super healthy, strong and happy. He’s 10 yrs old. I put him on a raw and lightly cooked diet when he was diagnosed. Now I am very concerned about his future and wonder what is the best path to keep him thriving for the rest of his life? After listening to Dr Stein, I am feeling very concerned!

ive been feeding my cats balanced raw for 17yrs- the majority of the raw feeding sites state that too much liver results in vit A toxicity but ive read a few studies that indicate a pet would need to JUST eat liver for at least 6m before theres any indication of an issue- is there any truth in this statement??? thx for ur time (and hopefully response)
