Friday morning here in OZ, I got a shit load of things to do, really didnt need to spend a whole hour watching this video. This project is going to be so cool. Karl I hold you personally responsible for my under achievement today.

I’ve got a photo of my Father and His Father standing in front of A ‘38 Pontiac Silver Streak. He said the thing was a beast once you got it blasting along the dirt roads in Bonne Bay, NFLD. The car was crashed on one of those dirt Roads. I think this project is one of the most interesting and exciting projects I’ve seen. I can’t imagine a more practical vehicle for going Trout fishing in the spring, or camping in the summer. Lots of storage space, ground clearance, Toyota reliability. Your creation really has vibes of my Uncles Dodge Power Wagon Van, another legendary vehicle that speaks to me.

Hi Karl, just be careful jumping off high platforms. I was an industrial firefighter and injured both ankles at different times. My foot stability suffered, I’m now 70 and feeling it, I don’t want such an enthusiastic creative person like you paving the way to future pain. Looking forward to how this project unfolds. G’day Elio you two make a great team. Just a thought: it looks like you need mounting points for a small utility hoist/ crane like I used in a Ute. I’m thinking that a few mounting points to locate it where you need it. Watching you two checking through the Plymouth parts is like watching kids in a Lolly shop. Take care and stay safe.

I’m only 42 and I’ve got an ankle and knee that both need a complete overhaul, and two hands full of crooked arthritic fingers. There’s a lot of things I’d have done differently if a guy could only go back.

@@minnesotatomcatyep I hear you, just hope the lads get the message, it’s not a criticism but concern for their future wellbeing. Take care tomcat.

That Plymouth body is a beauty, even with four doors. Or should I say, I see your vision with four doors and agree. I also like the Toyota drivetrain. Don't let Elio sway you. The little R22 that could, will work great in there. I'm looking forward to more content on this. And I don't care if you don't finish anything, but I know you will in due time.

I love it. I build stuff like this all the time. I currently have a 1940 Packard on a 2006 Chevy 4x4 frame and a 1927 Ford cab on a 1977 Jeep cj5 frame.

What an amazing transformation from an assortment of parts to a clear shape of a vision. That car will be sick when it’s done and the journey will be a lot of fun to watch. Stay awesome.

This is going to be awesome! Interesting thing about the early Chevy's is that they appear chopped from the factory (roof height) and were longer than the Fords (like a Rockne)! But oh boy, inner structure is a lot of wood! As for a name..."Backwoods Bomber." Or "Backcountry Squire." Go Japhands and Elio, keep moving forward!

Genius call to go the 4x4 route! Gives me pre-war 4runner vibes...she's a massive chunk of steel..I'd call it the 4Tunner

Karl, this is a cool build. Love the beefy look to this trail beater. By the way can definitely tell you and Elio play a young man's game, herk'n that axle around to get it into the storage bay on the top truck. Be careful, don't hurt your backs, you'll need them later, TRUST ME!

Your skid plate will make a great frame stiffener. Marlin crawler makes a great doubler kit and use rubber OEM style bushings whenever possible. I am running full leafs all the way around with air bag assist on the back - NO axle rap up. 1942 Dodge on 40s and it is the best riding vehicle I own. Gave you a wave when you and the boys were on the side of the highway at Sleepy Hollow.

I know a guy who has a really nice running and driving ‘34 Plymouth 4 door. Pretty much all rust free from what I recall. But I don’t think he has had it out of the garage in 10 years or more. It has the original engine that he had rebuilt and the original transmission. All on the original chassis. He used to cruise it around a bunch for Sunday drives and such. Plus loaned it out to friends for use in weddings. But I think the clutch went out if I remember right and he couldn’t easily find parts so he parked it. He is too old now to have the interest in fixing it. Looking at your project makes me want to call him and see if he wants to sell it. I think it is 100% all there except the hood ornament has a piece broken off of it. Pretty cool looking old cars.

Need a wrapping front bumper to fill to the sill/ step. Love your work and everything you share w us! This rig is cool, but maybe some rear wheel we'll flairs to tie to the cab because it's proportionally like 2/3-3/4 blank canvas compared to the awsome cab. I know it's not a show pig but would also make it look lower at ride hight

This has been a idea of mine, combine a 30s rod with 4x4. Would be perfect for norwegian winters (much like Canada). I found a picture online of a rod about 10 years ago with the front diff poking through the lower part of the grill. Looked almost lowered. It was perfection.
