Take a minute and pray.
This year’s prayer and fasting experience will focus on Open Heaven, Open Portals, and Open Spirit and our declaration for 2023: Advancing the Kingdom.
Matthew 6:16-18 - "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (NIV)
I Corinthians 2:9 - “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” (KJV) II Corinthians 7:1 - “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (KJV)
Acts 13:2 - “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” (KJV)
Fasting is a form of Worship!
Hello #TRIMNation
I am so excited about this year’s 7-day fast! This fast will remind us of the importance of prayer and fasting. During this time, your line of communication with God should grow and further develop. Throughout the fast, we will do the following:
1. Read and meditate on the Word of God daily. Read the scriptures of your choice. Pray and ask God to give you a divine revelation of His Word. Meditate on the Word day and night, and you will make your way prosperous, and you will have good success.
2. As you pray, record what you hear from the Holy Spirit in a journal daily. Take notes of this exciting journey as we fast.
3. Endeavor to attend all services during this special time. Worship becomes more intimate and pure as you dedicate this time to the Lord.
4. Our focus is purity and sanctification.
5. Have a goal and purpose in mind.
6. This is not a random act; we are purposeful about spending this time with God. You already know that the devil will come to tempt us and attack us, and we are not ignorant of his devices. The enemy may even make you depressed, isolated, and abandoned. If this happens, be sure to lean on your accountability partner and your leaders.
This is not a complete fast. Consult your doctor if you have pre-existing medical conditions that would make fasting complicated.
Here are the guidelines:
