Shabbat Shalom, the first time I read it I cried. My Father awoke me in the middle of the night in Oct 1973, I was 8 years old in South Africa. We knelt together at the little radio and started praying for Israel!! Everyday and night we would do that and read a Psalm. It was the Yom Kippur war. I am 56 years old today. Moving to the Eastern Cape soon. Yehovah made a way for me, just as He always makes a way and watches over the apple of His eye, Yisra'el. If Psalm 22 prophecy did nor come to fluition, we would all have been lost forever!! Baruch Haba Beschem Yehovah!! Thank you Yeshua. From the scattered tribe of Re'uben. Amen

I am blessed by this study from One for Israel. The Holy Spirit is moving.. After many years of reading Psalms, there came a moment while reading , it was as if, The Messiah began telling me about His experiences and thoughts as He went through the crucifixion, time in the depths And when Father came and rescued Him. I shared with others but when I read to them, they didn’t hear what I understood. I hid that moment in my heart. Thank you for discussing what I believed was brought Alive to me. Now I know it had to be The Lord!

That’s like reading your KJV and not being able to distinguish Jews from the men of Judea…I do care about them as a whole but yes they are not brothers, at least not in Christ. *HOW A WORM PROVES CHRISTIANITY TO BE TRUE* This is a copy&paste on the hebrew word for worm I found on the internet. Many of you might be wondering about the title. How exactly can a worm show Christianity to be correct? Well let's see. Psalm 22, written by King David around the 11th century BC. It contains a messianic prophecy about the suffering and death of Christ about a thousand years before he actually gave his life upon the cross. __ It says, 📖“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?..”📖 - Psalms 22:1 (ESV). __ This prophecy was fulfilled in 33 AD when Jesus cried out the exact same words while hanging on the cross (Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34). In verse 6 in Psalm 22, Jesus said something that was quite odd and interesting. He said, 📖“But I am a worm and not a man...”📖 - Psalms 22:6 (ESV). Why on earth would he call himself a worm? __ Most of the time in the Bible, the Hebrew word for "worm" is רִמָּה (rimmah) which means a maggot. However in these two passages I quoted, the Hebrew word for "worm" in those specific passages is תּוֹלָע (tola) which means "crimson worm" or "scarlet". Both scarlet and crimson are the colors of blood. __ Interestingly, there's a literal worm which exists that's called the crimson worm (also known as the scarlet worm & Coccus ilicus). When it is time for the mother Crimson worm to have babies (which she does only one time in her life), she finds the trunk of a tree, a wooden fencepost or a stick. She then attaches her body to that wood and makes a hard crimson shell. The Crimson worm then lays her eggs under her body and the protective shell. When the baby worms hatch, they stay under the shell. __ After just a few days, when the young worms grow to the point that they are able to take care of themselves, the mother dies. As the mother Crimson worm dies, she oozes a crimson or scarlet red dye which not only stains the wood she is attached to, but also her young children. They are covered by scarlet red for the rest of their lives. After three days, the dead mother Crimson worm's body loses its crimson color and turns into a white wax which falls to the ground like snow. This is why God said, "Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord : though your sins are like SCARLET, they shall be as WHITE as SNOW: though they are red like CRIMSON they shall become like wool." Isaiah 1:18 ESV Just like the Crimson worm, Jesus sacrificed his life on wood (the cross) so that his children might be eternally covered and washed with his crimson blood and their sins cleaned white as snow. So how do we know that Jesus died on the cross? Well we know this not only because it was documented in the 27 sources in the New Testament but we also have external sources such as lgnatius, Polycarp, Josephus, Taticus, Clement of Rome & Didache etc. to affirm this Jesus Christ is the ultimate crimson worm. He died for us, that we might live through him! Who knew that a tiny worm could give such a powerful case for Christianity 's validity!

In Jesus’ time, if a rabbi wanted to point his students to a certain passage, he couldn’t say, “Now open your Torahs to… .” Instead, the teacher would direct his students’ attention to the verse by stating the first line of the passage. His students would know the passage. When Jesus was on the cross, his final lesson was to direct his followers to Psalm 22 by beginning the verse: “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”

So BILLIONS of people, throughout the ages, who all agree that this is a prophecy regarding Yeshua, they're all stupid, but the many thousands that can't see it, are really the bright ones. Even Gamaliel warned against fighting g The Way. He said if it is from God, you can't stop it, and you will only find yourselves fighting God. As a Gentile, I my heart breaks for those Jews who have the honour to have Jesus, a Jew as their Messiah and yet when presented with this truth, instead to rejoice and praise God, they become more self righteous and chose to keep the veil on their hearts, minds...Praying for all Jews. Such loving Father we have, that instead to get angry at our unbelief, He put all these treasures in His word that when a Jew who's familiar only with OT, starts to read the NT, will rejoice with joy unspeakable saying "this is my Messiah " while a Gentile who might be familiar only with NT when starts reading the OT will rejoice with joy unspeakable saying this is my Lord and my God, my Christ, the Saviour of the whole world!!!

Hi Also I was actually reading both Psalm 22 and Psalm 23 last full moon Shabbat, and realised for the first time that Psalm 23 is about our Millennial state of existence! Because it ends so nonchalantly with, 'And I shall dwell in the House of The Lord YHWH forever'. Apart from the ultra idyillic ' He leadeth me by the still waters'! Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua returning soon to take up His throne in Jerusalem.

In regards to Psalms being prophetic: Luke 24:44-47 (ESV): 44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46 and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Thanks so much for helping reveal more of how our Lord has spoken to us over the generations. As I continue with Psalm 22, from verse 22 onward, it becomes clearer and clearer that David is talking about the Lord Jesus. Thank you my Jewish Brethren. Bless you and bless Israel. May the Word of the Lord be preached throughout the land.

I’ve recently been been watching messianic sabbath services and listening to the sermons and the way they tie the Old Testament and Torah into the New Testament just enlightens and strengthens my faith in Yeshua in a way that catholic services never have. I thank you all and the Holy Spirit for leading me to this deeper appreciation.

As a young boy Jesus read and imbibed psalms 22 - a training manual inspired by his Heavenly Father and written his ancestor King David. On the mount of olives that same sinless man reviewed psalm 22 in his heart and sweated blood. A few hours later he lived, rose again in fulfilment of that prophesy So glad he will be here again in this decade

This is amazing! Recently I reread psalm 22 and I wondered if Jesus had had enough breath he would have recited the whole psalm! I realised how everyone stops at the lament and questions that the Father should turn his back on the son. People don't read the whole psalm and see the content. But your explanation of the "address " made perfect sense to me.

How very astute of you to see past the words spoken and into the entire moment. Jesus may very well have been saying the rest mentally unable to speak them out loud due to the physical constraints of the crucifixion. Thank you for bringing this point up.
