Hello Maritza, so glad you are well and resting. I am set to go the end of June and surgery July 3rd. How much money do you think I should exchange in the airport? I want to do a little clothes shopping. Do you find the prices there to be much cheaper or the same as in the states? Also what places do you recommend to go shopping at? No rush on responding as I know you are recuperating.

There are several vendors all over to buy things from. Shop around for price you generally can negotiate with the street vendors. Don't pay the first price they say because they sometimes increase price when they see you are a tourist! Prices are cheaper here. For cash 200 dollars should be enough for things you want to buy in cash. A lot of places take mastercard. If you have a mastercard credit card there are no international fees. I used card for most restaurants. I used cash for taxis and souvenirs.

I would bring loose dark pajama pants/sweats for after surgery and a loose t shirt. 2 pairs of each. Then for the rest of the time sundresses, maxi skirts and tank tops. You will be in compression and will want light loose clothes to hide any drains. If you are staying 2 weeks plan on at least 4 sundresses and 4 skirt/tank top combos.
