Just a couple things he hadn't touched on. To boost your weapon crafting quickly, also make as many arrows as possible while out n about. For the loot hidden under the metal panels, there is only one panel you need concern yourself with as the games code follows a set diagram. For the building he went in, it's the panel to the right of the fireplace. To save durability on your axe, you can break the wooden block next to the panel.

And to get tree seeds guaranteed, break the trees tht have a durability of 900 or higher. My experience, I haven't gotten them from either dead trees(like the one outside the building he took shelter in) or anything smaller than 900.

Hey all I found another tip or trick When starting a new game Do the basic quest and hold off on the trader quest (if you can) Once you get the minibike and start exploring Every were you go on the map The trader icon will show up Then you can mark their location and move on But once you hit a trader the quest is done, and you won't be able to locate the traders. Hope this helps

I'm on day 55 but yeah when I first played I didn't like it. It took me 3 trying to get in to it... turning the gamma up is a must otherwise I can't see anything on the ground.. and I turn off always run so I can get classic zombies

The day this game came to Gamepass I played it and figured most of this out, but this is a most appreciated guide as I feel that this can be a rather, "hostile" game to perhaps casual players, as the suffocating darkness, running zombies, hidden or not very well explained mechanics, and minecraft cave sounds but worse, etc. May the scare the hell out of people and push them away from the game and as someone who has gotten past all that and reached up to day 18, I can definitely see how without a tutorial like this people might just push the game to the side, still 7 days is one of the best zombie games I've ever played other than cod zombies, there is so much god damn content, and I've already played 30 hours and still feel as if I'm just scratching the surface. The way how it goes from Survival game in day, to horror game at night, to literal cod zombies on every 7th night, amazes me, and I know now as of yesterday that the PC version is just leagues above this, I already love the game on console but I can only imagine how much better it'll become and how much more I'll adore this game once it gets updated on console. And I'm also amazed that for 8 or so years, or however long the game has been out it's been in alpha all this time, as the devs strive to achieve perfection in their zombie game, to stand out amongst the hordes of zombie games.

Forsure i went through thay exact thing. I played it for about an hour the first time and it was so frustrating i probably died 10 times and was constantly starving but now ive learned all the little nooks and crannys of the mechanics and workstations im able to survive longer my longest life on my day 109 world is 58hrs i only died cause of a random mine i drove over in a weird biome i found. If you like 7 days try DayZ it is also on Game Pass it's very hard to get into there's a huge learning curve but it is absolutely the best zombie game I've ever played I've sunk hundreds of hours into it and I still love playing it to this day

Up to day 20 after a few failed attempts finding the mini bike book has made a huge difference. Being able to get to areas to scavenge quickly is huge.

If you’re catering to people who don’t know much about the game, it would have been very beneficial to mention that in this version of the game: that raw meat you harvested from the pig will attract nearby zombies to your location/make you easier to detect. Also in the wasteland that it’s not only dogs that are the huge danger, but land mines randomly spawn on the ground as well, and can quickly kill someone who’s not expecting it.

Something you should have mentioned is to hold on to the sandwiches for later as a source of medicine once you unlock the chemistry station, other than that, for the most part this is a pretty solid guide for new players

After a few mis-fires/mis-starts, on the Navgene map I suggest starting in or immediately finding the desert biome. Yucca plants pretty much solve all food and water problems, and aloe is insanely easy to find too. Starting in the snow biome really is a slog, avoid it till you got good clothes and lots of food. The burnt?/wasteland is not much fun either to start Hardest thing to find originally is mechanical components for a workbench , wrench cars and machinery after you find a wrench. Defintely turn up the Gamma vidoe setting or you won't be able to see anything.

For mechanical parts, shopping carts gives the most in my experience. After that air conditioners and after that cars as wrenching a car sadly not always a guarantee to give those parts.

My first ever start was in the burnt biome right near the trader. I was such a noob I thought the trader was a bandit camp it looked so intimidating so I ran far from it and got killed three times by dogs, zombies and finally vultures! I gave up at that point until I did some serious research online. It does still bug me that a player should have to do that, Im old enough to remember when games had complete guides ingame!

One thing (I haven't looked at all comments so someone else may have already mentioned this) you can get wood from those taller green twiggy looking bushes, the low lying stick looking brush in the desert areas, and the more round bushes in the woods area

I recommend, first night get as much wood, fiber, and stone that you can get before nightfall, find a place to sit in all night and crank clubs and axes, that will get your tool and weapons leves up, it helps a lot in the beginning stages of the game

I'm a console player, and after a few years of not playing 7DTD I am breaking back into the game. It has always been my favorite Zed survival-horror, open-world, crafting game. I'm currently on multiplayer Classic Zombies, Nomad, Day 45 and I'm really enjoying it even without updates. But something tells me they may repackage the game and resell it on console with all the updates.

You should gather as much stone fiber and wood as you can from your spawn as there is a protection period as long as you dont go too far. 7 days top rule is ABC Always Be Crafting You forgot the best thing to do with corn is plant it, not eat it day two when you build your forge lol

@@aggrocd1985 food management is basic survival. As you said this is a tutorial, so it should at least be mentioned that certain items can be planted and may be best saved for farming. I can survive longer without weapons and shelter than you can without food so i would put food as one of the most important basic tutorials new players need.

@@aggrocd1985 chances are in 7 days i am better than you because i followed 7 days from very early on, 7x7 crafting grid early, and purchased it on console the day of release. But that was not my point. My point is you can not survive without food, no one can. Even the best players will not survive to day 7 without food so that makes food more important than anything. I think most people could survive longer without weapons and shelter than you could without food but i cant guarantee they would i can guarantee i would.

I get about 50 grass, look for bushes that give wood find 5 rocks and at least 10 feathers. Then jump up on a big rock and make bed ax and clothes. Put the clothes on and go wack the rock should be doing that while you are crafting. Jump down and chop wood when you have about 30 to 50 rocks. Keep an eye out for rocks and nests. Make arrows first to bring up skill save 2 for the quest. Jump up on thr rock again and finish quests.

Love the consol guide. Me and buddy play together on day 67ish. Started at the cell tower had a glitch happen and moved to a military base in the desert and spent majority of our time there. Already had basic concrete walls and large amount of space. Once his internet issues are fixed we will start playing again we will finish building the garden area

I NEED HELP! Trader Joel isn’t giving me any quests, how do I get quests? Every time I go anywhere there’s always about 10 zombies instead of just a couple and it’s making looting nearly impossible. Probably not a bad idea to let people know that the resource gathering isn’t as demanding in this game compared to say like Conan Exiles. Which is an awesome game, but I get tired of constantly breaking rocks, trees, etc. And with the horde coming every 7 days, it makes time spent gathering more worthwhile.

Ok look. A good tip I have for someone just starting out the game, and especially solo players is this. I figure I'll get some howls from people, but honestly, this made me a better player overall. If you're having real trouble getting started, go into the options, and turn the zombie spawns off. Learn the game, learn ways to maximize your time, lay down good groundwork for a base, or learn structures you might want to use as a base. After you feel you have a good handle on the basics, either go into options and turn the zombie spawns to your desired level, or start a new game with the spawns on. You're not getting combat experience, but the first few days you really shouldn't be looking for fights that much anyways, you're too weak, and there's way too much other things to do those first few days anyways.

If you really like hunting deer, pigs and chickens but hate being interrupted, it works, I guess... But you know what? We're going to laugh at you. All of us. Hey Spartan you have to let people know on your 7d2d vids. That the old version you are playing now as a bad bug. Its called the md5 crash. If you play for a really long time the game will crash and when you log back in your game will start to revert back to day 1 Set the 24-hour cycle to 40 and at 4am everyday log out of the game and restart your game and rinse and repeat. This will refresh the game, so you won't lose your stuff

Absolutely. I have hundreds of hours on console (all prior to A18 as I've been on PC since). To clarify the OP's statement, the MD5 crash will reset a random "chunk" (16x16 area, bedrock to sky) back to day 1, not the entire map or your character. And it WILL happen if you have a long play session, the time of which will diminish as your save file gets larger; but it can also happen randomly - had it happen within 10 min a few times. The crash happens when the MD5 checksum of your save file doesn't match the game's database - your save file is corrupted; after being forced to restart the game, the game will reset the corrupt chunk to as it was on day 1. Other than living with it, reverting to a previous save file is your only solution. PS players have a workaround backing up their gamesaves to a USB drive (very frequently) and reloading their last good save. Xbox players don't have this luxury. As best I can remember, the way you know a crash is happening is when you open an inventory (your own, a storage chest, anything) and it doesn't display everything, flickers, etc; only very few times did the game close and dump me to the home screen. I always played til a crash and the following steps worked 100% of the time for me on an Xbox One (haven't tested on a Series X), including multiplayer where I was the host: 1. Disconnect from the internet (Ethernet cable is your friend here; disconnecting WiFi takes extra steps but is absolutely crucial). 2. Navigate to the save file and delete it (this is the one that's corrupt). 3. Hardboot the console (hold power button until it shuts down) and power back up. This step may not actually be necessary but I always did to clear the cache - seemed to get a little longer between crashes. 4. Reconnect the internet and relaunch your game. As it loads, you'll briefly see a message that it's syncing your save files, which is downloading the last good auto-save from the cloud (corrupted files were never backed up to the Xbox Live Cloud for me). You'll lose a little time/progress which will vary based on when the file started corrupting and when you see visual cues of it, but this is certainly better than rebuilding a large portion of your base or losing the auger you had stored in a chest in the affected chunk. There's no way to know what chunk will reset until you load the game without reverting to an old save, and for XB players there's no going back at that point. When they finally go 1.0 and do a new gen console port, I'll absolutely be buying the game again.

Just learned the "restart game daily" for and don't use Clint and Miguel due to the headgear bug... after day 77 and the darn PS4 blue screen of death 3x in 30m consistently. Had to restart a few times and watch few videos to see why game was getting corrupted. Also one your screen starts to flicker (PS4) slow down and turn off as many lights as reasonable. Rendering seems to cause issues if to much lighting. And good point on the backups. Allows you to go back to when game isn't corrupted worth having to start back at day 1.

Hey Spartan! Here is a tip for you: You don't have to like go to a stone/bush etc, stop, look at it and press Y to pick it up. You can just hold Y while looking into its direction and walk into it and it'll pick it up without the need to stop. (You still have to look at the ground, like make sure it's in your "crosshair" at least for a split second while moving.) Also thanks for all the tips and such, just started playing today and you helped tons!

Whenever I play this game, on day 1 I was ALWAYS surrounded by zombies. It makes it almost impossible to get past day 2 without rage quitting. I’ve tried all the easy settings, cheats-it’s been so hard but I know how fun this game is. Boyfriend and I play all the time-but without him I’m lost.

If you shoot an animal with an arrow, it can bleed out so if you told me arrows, just right, you can kill just about any animal with about two arrows depending on how much damage you do as well

I spawn in the snow and placed my bedroll in that biome the first time I played the game and it was awful, the cold, the lumberjacks, I was dying all the time, in the nights I hid in a cabin and couldn't see anything, it was so dark and scary, I play with headphones and every sound scare the shit out of me, I even stop playing the game. Then I understood how the game works and it's much easier now, but that first playthrough was an uphill for me 😅.

@@Spartan85 biomes do have different ore. The big stones have a chance to give a random amount of coal, lead end nitrate. Coal in plains, burnt forest. Nitrate in snow, wastland. Lead in grassy lands. And oil shael from dessert. Iron all biomes

Iron reinforced club! Didn't think you could do any hand crafted iron tool/weapons, or needed a forge. There's too much hidden for me... any way to see all potential craft options, not just craftables? Like you have to Search for a bullows, etc. Thanks!

You scan see them if you click on recipes ok a given item, like leather or wood etc. I know it’s hard to tell sometimes, it’s definitely a learning curve. Iron reinforced club is a game changer early game

Thanks so much for this, many great tips here. I used to play this on PC but don’t have one anywhere so just bought this on Ps5. I’ve forgotten everything! I’ve just discovered that the devs intend to bring out an updated version this year, however, we will have to buy it all over again! That really annoys me as I have bought it twice already, bit greedy of them if you ask me. 😢

I love the burnt forest and dessert. Hate the badlands and the landmines in the wasteland. I love the loot and materials in. The wasteland tho.

In pc version we have normal combat system when u walk to zombie and normally attack , but in console when u walk to zombie and trying attack him , he chase you for 5 seconds and attack you ( you cant run from him ) - i hate this and that's why i dont play too much on xbox

After you've shot an animal successfully with at least 1 arrow eventually it will die you just have to chase it for a while.

It worked thank you. Bad thing is I ran over a landmine in the wasteland again. This game hates me. Never die from zombies but dogs bears and landmines kill me every time. Seems no matter what I do get stuck with wasteland every time. I started new game and they spawned me in the burnt forest beside a ranger station had fight 4 zombies on warrior with nothing but a torch and fists. Than soon as I got my arrows and bow made a dog came running at me. Lol Well at least I'm getting better at killing the dogs.

Have you played Stranded Deep? I actually really like 7dtd and haven't played Stranded deep but I am considering it. I'm not happy that PS5 7dtd is alpha15 compared to pc at 20 and I know there is supposed to be an update coming but who knows when. Would you say 7dtd in its current state is better than stranded deep?

What you get under the big rocks is not a mine ore. Thats an A16 thing console is A15.4

I was explaining that on console, when you break apart a rock you get a specific ore based on the biome. Thanks for the comment!
