Wow, Wakaikari's winning move (at 7:40 ish) looked like something out of The Matrix.

A few things I have learned from watching early day sumo. Always bet on the Mullet (aka Slick) Henka's fail more times than not. The guys who clean the line with their foot win 75% of the time. And in Slick on Slick violence everyone looses. Love the vids and love early day sumo, keep up the good work.

These are quickly becoming my favourite in-basho videos. So much spectacular skill on show, it's only a shame that I've been missing out on it up until now.

Sarah just wonder if you could post any of the names of those taking part in the lower rank tournament, or point me in the direction where I could find out. Thanks

The names are written on the top banner, all in Hiragana which are pretty easy to learn, if you want to start your japanese journey !

@@hugotabellion9759 thanks Hugo I guess I was wondering if there is a list of rankings and stables etc that I could search, it’s not just the names. Thanks

@@kevincale4533 maybe the grand sumo app is what you need? You have all the rankers and information about them all including heya, age, size etc..

Sorry for late reply :( Update on Kiho: he's finally practicing again after recovering from leg surgery in November. He is expected back in the Summer. I really miss him, my fave.

@@sarahlikessumo7792 yeah, I was hoping both him and Hakuoho would be in Makuuchi by now, but those damn injuries always get in the way.... hope he can use his signature Kihoplex finishing move to climb back up the ranks....
