Day 106 - First Motocross Race Day and Win

During this week my friend asked me to enter into the 2nd annual Nocona Toys for Tots motocross race. I told him that I would only enter the race if I could clear 3 more jumps on that track. Long story short, I went out on a no-prep practice day in high winds with my friend Donovan and he walked me through clearing those jumps of concern. A man of my word, I had to enter the race! I signed up for the Big Bike Beginner class and for experience purposes only, also entered into the 40+ Vet class. I went 1-1 in the Beginner class and 3-3 in the Vet class, however the 3-3 is more like last place because there were only three people in the class on that day. This particular video was shot from my helmet during part of moto #1 of the Big Bike Beginner class where I realized after the start that the camera was not on. During moto #2 I forgot to turn the camera on entirely which is unfortunate as it would have contained the best footage. I was battling in second place and barely took first in the last lap of the moto. In this video you will hear and see an 85cc bike which was driven by a highly talented and humble young man I met that day. He was mixed in with the big bikes because he didn't have anyone to race. He nearly passed me in the last lap and kept me on my toes to assure I didn't slack off.
