I think it's cool that the high spin/speed ratio on your throw helps you control flippy discs, but also keeps discs like the stabilizer straight for longer! That disc seems like it just clicks.

This was one of my favorite videos ever. I love this course. Too bad you couldn’t film 17- that’s where I got my first ever birdie. And as far as the par 4’s go. Yes they’re par 4’s. Not all of us have cannons for an arm like you. Great video and I’m so happy to see this course memorialized as it most likely will not exist in 2-3 years due to development.

One thing to point out about the hand leading vs the elbow leading for hand whipping action on your putts: Hand leading is less movement, fewer biomechanics to control, and therefore will be more consistent of a release and easier to execute in tournament play under pressure. But like you said, with that comes reduced power. Just something to be aware of. I personally have a hand leading putt when I'm inside circle and an elbow leading whippy putt for outside circle.
@camdenburgess43692 ай бұрын
I think most local guys play em as 4's just because it's easier on Udisc. But I think a few guys made an alternate layout with different teepad locations to make it a tougher course. Haven't given it a shot but might be a decent way to make the course tougher without having to just change pars. Been loving the MVP series and watching you tear up the local courses!
@mikkelhong100219 күн бұрын
I can speak to the par 4s as I designed the course. 13 is par 4 because we aren't allowed to cut any of the trees. We already have an easy course in Cornwall and a hard course in Mossy. Bellis Fairways is meant to bridge the gap and give players that aren't too good but need a little more challenge than Cornwall provides. Also, there aren't any easily accessed courses in the immediate area with par 4s, and I like that you have to be a little more strategic with your shots, especially if you don't have a cannon. And, par is just par. There have been some heater rounds out there but the course record is still -17, so no one has blown out the course yet. The history of the course was an abandoned 20 acres of land that housed multiple homeless camps, including a shoplifting/drugs trading depot. I called the owners and asked them if they'd like to have people using their property for something positive. They liked the idea of a disc golf course and gave the green light. We cleared over 4 tons of garbage off the land and installed the baskets less than 6 months after that first phone call. It's now the busiest course in Whatcom with over 12,800 UDisc rounds recorded since May of 2023. Anyway, loved the video! If you ever want to make a video with me (or any of the other course designers in the area), I'd love to (and could hook you up with the other designers).

I think a nomad vs ion for putting would be a good vid comparing the only beaded mvp putters. I know the pilot/ohm has a micro bead, but as someone who throws pilots and putts wizards they definitely don’t feel like a beaded putter
@andrewgalamb23952 ай бұрын
Brod, you moved your putting reach back to the right and wonder why you're missing left. By letting your elbow lead you're effectively coiling your wrist more and that adjusts your aim in the opposite direction.

Good video. I agree with the traffic/city being distracting at times, but perhaps your lack of focus was just due to being sick and running on DayQuil. BTW, I'd call that little hill "a mound". Weird how you went from banging those chains w/the Atoms in the last video to missing a few too many today. Hope you find the MVP putter that works best for you before this challenge ends.

I like my Electron Atom. I putted with the cheap beginner Aviar for quite a while, and then picked up a glow Penny Putter and used that for a long time, so I got used to a shallow beadless feel. Putters are very personal, once I feel like one is working I'll try to stick with it for a long time.

I disagree with the 400ft par 3. If you are a MA1 or Open player, sure, but the VAST majority of casual "Saturday Warriors" do not throw 450 on average. Why not have a "dual" Rating on a tee, just say "challenging route, par 3, normal route, par 4". It's actually quite disheartening to newer/casual players to only ever take bogeys, and invites injury for people who don't have proper form to throw farther than they can/should to try to get a "par 3" 400ft flat pin placement. Also, Is your sweatshirt inside out, or is that just a really weird style sweathshirt? lol. Liking the mini-series! Keep up the work and feel better soon!
