Thanks for another awesome video Tracey and Jim. It was so interesting and enjoyable to watch for sure. Before I get into today, Just a note to thank you once again for the link to the history of your harvest family. I posted my thoughts on that day 25 video from last year. You made my day!!!!!!’ Thanks again. Steve. Now back to today. The drone footage showing the Belt Creek area was just out of this world Beautiful!!!!!! Wow, such a fantastic area to enjoy!!!!! Great work Katie with the drone footages. You are a great drone operator!!!!!! Also thanks to Nick for the drone footage when the airplane came to visit. What a fantastic keepsake picture that made!!!!! Combines and airplanes, don’t see that real often. Thanks Nick!!!! Your combine footage today was awesome once again. The spring wheat even looks thick and heavy in some areas. Good year for the crop production. Lots of hills and valleys and narrow roads to negotiate in this area. You did great with your combine, great work Tracey!!!!! Combines are not easiest to keep balanced in terrain like that, nice going!!! Beautiful country once again with great scenery and the town of Carter in the distance. Interesting!!!!!’ The rain stopped harvest but gave you all some down time to relax a bit and enjoy!!!! Nice to have that time to share one another’s company and visit about your harvest days. About it I guess for Day 13. Totally enjoyed another harvest video in beautiful Montana!!!! You and Jim and all the crew take care and be safe. Anxious to catch the Day 14 video tomorrow. Thanks for everything Tracey!!!!! The Iowa farm boy. Steve 😊😊👋👍👍✅🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸❤

When I watch your videos of Montana, I always think of one of my favorite western writers, Ivan Doig. Most of his books are about Montana. He wrote one novel, “Bucking the Sun,” about the construction of the Fort Peck Dam that you might enjoy if you have not read it. My favorites of his work are “This House of Sky,” a memoir and “Dancing at the Rascal Fair,” the second book in a trilogy.

Hi! Just wanted to comment on your videos. I came across you and Jim several years ago when you were moving south to Sharon, KS. You drove through Pratt and I recognized the town as I was born there 60+ years ago. I have been watching you since. I really like the videos you put out. I do have a question for you. My dad farmed around Isabel, KS for 20 or more years and harvested a lot of wheat. We didn't cut as low as you are in MT. Is there a reason you cut so low? Dad never wanted that much straw going through the combine unless the wheat was down and we had no choice. Thank you for all the time you put into getting these videos out. I know harvest is a lot of work itself. To then video and take the time to edit it and get it on You Tube just adds so much more time. Just so you know, it is greatly appreciated!!! Videos like these are the only way I get to farm any more!!! Thanks again and God Bless!!!

Sorry I mentioned rain in my last post- but you guys needed a break. Question - does spring wheat get used for a different purpose than winter wheat? Yield is less- so does one get used for cattle feed other used for human consumption? Stupid question, but wondering what's difference
@ZeorianHarvestingTrucking4 ай бұрын
Not a stupid question. It’s the different time of the year the crop is planted. Winter wheat will be planted this fall (September). Spring wheat is planted in the spring. “In North America, wheat is often classified by how it grows. The difference between spring wheat and winter wheat is when the seeds are sown. Spring wheat is sown in the spring and is harvested in the fall. Winter wheat is sown in the fall, lives through the winter, and is then harvested in the summer. Harder winter wheat usually contains a higher protein content than spring wheat and is suitable for making pasta and bread. Spring wheat is used for products that do not require high-protein content, such as tender pastries and cakes.”
