A priest from Notre Dame once shared with our community that every time we pray the Holy Mary Mother of God pray for us sinners now and at the HOUR of our death… that at the moment of death we will see all of those prayers we offered to Our Lady and will be revealed to us. That was a glorious wow moment that I had never heard before and it really moves my heart now every time I say the pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Reflecting on that moment is Mary bringing our prayers to God where everything is perfected and illumines eternal love. ❤

Thank you Fr. Mark-Mary. From the little book titled Visits to the Blessed Sacrament we beg for Mary's help especially at the moment of our death, "...do not leave me, I beseech you, until you see me safe in Heaven..." I try and remember to pray for the grace of final perseverance. To die in the state of grace and escape the final temptations.

thank you for this podcast; the episodes have allowed me to grow closer to Our Lady :-) I do have a comment on today's episode; in your analogies you made it seem like those who asked the neighbor for help, didn't know that lady's son. And that makes sense; "hey lady, I know you, I don't know your son very well, ask him this for me". I've done that before, especially when I don't know a person really well, or or when I'm shy or intimidated about talking to them directly. However, in my case, I know Jesus, I talk to him every day, I'm not afraid to approach him. When he came down to Earth he made it possible for me and all who call upon him to have direct access to him. don't get me wrong; I'm a Catholic, and I love Our Lady, but most of the time when I ask for her intersession, I already talked to Jesus about whatever it is that I'm asking Our Lady to intercede for me. And yes, I do recognize Our Lady's role in our spiritual life; there have been prayers that Our Lord only answers when I ask Our Lady to intercede. I don't know where I'm going with this... I don't know, but I feel like if a protestant listens to this particular episode, he may wrongly believe that if he were to become Catholic, he is always going to need a mediator between him and Jesus.

While the usage of the Biblical passage mentioned is correct in showing how valued the queen mother position was in ancient times and is still relevant today I would be remiss if I didn’t point out Adonijah’s request was actually not granted. Solomon refused it because his half-brother Adonijah’s request was for permission to marry David’s old concubine which would thus put him in the running for the throne. So once he heard the request fully Solomon refused it and had the guy killed.

Correct. However, Bathsheba's intercession was limited because of her human imperfection, Mary’s intercession is perfected because it is done entirely within the divine will of her Son. Old Testament types always find their purpose and fulfillment in Christ.

Correct me if I'm wrong Father, but Adonijah didn't actually get what he asked for through the intercession of Bathsheba, in fact Solomon killed him for it. 1 Kings 2:21-25: She said, “Let Ab'ishag the Shu'nammite be given to Adoni'jah your brother as his wife.” King Solomon answered his mother, “And why do you ask Ab'ishag the Shu'nammite for Adoni'jah? Ask for him the kingdom also; for he is my elder brother, and on his side are Abi'atharthe priest and Jo'ab the son of Zeru'iah.” Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, “God do so to me and more also if this word does not cost Adoni'jah his life! Now therefore as the LORD lives, who has established me, and placed me on the throne of David my father, and who has made me a house, as he promised, Adoni'jah shall be put to death this day.” So King Solomon sent Bena'iah the son of Jehoi'ada; and he struck him down, and he died.
