Another heart warming video! I so appreciate you waiting to post your Camino videos. My wife and I walked into Santiago on October 25th....I think we started about a week after you did. I still have a “Camino Hangover” with the burning desire to return and do it again. I remember San Nicolas vividly. Your videos allow me to reflect back on my Camino. Thanks a million Rachelle!!

My wife and I did the Camino in Sept/Oct 2018. It was the most fulfilling and satisfying thing I have ever done. I still miss it. I wish I could go back and walk a few days. Thank you for all the great memories.

I'm jumping around through your videos (and will now absolutely have to start from the beginning!) though I couldn't help but watch this one because staying at San Nicolas was one of the best experiences on my Camino Frances. I think there were only two things that I absolutely wanted to do on that Camino (otherwise, nothing was really planned), but staying at this albergue was one of them. I'm so happy to see that you followed your heart and your feelings to stay here. It's something I try hard to practice when I'm on the Camino- in "real life" I kind of like to follow a plan and know what to expect. But when I actually make space to listen to my feelings, I find that they guide me to the right place. I can't wait to watch more, Buen Camino amiga!

Thank you so much for watching! Yes, San Nicolas was soooo magical for me-made even more so because I listened to my heart and fed my soul! I’m longing to return to another Camino and hope I can go back in the next year or two. Until then, working up the courage to get out on solo hikes again. Are you back from your road trip or still traveling? I’ve traveled overseas more than here at home-I love seeing the rest of the country through your eyes! Thank you for sharing! Be safe and Buen Camino in life! 😊👣

Love the mist. What’s the rush? Good choice! What a lovely place to meditate and marinate in the atmosphere and candlelight. Built by the Knights of Malta in the eleventh century. Sooo happy for you.

The hymns inside San Nicolas is soothing, I had a feeling you were going to stay before you said it (I would) The place looks very monastic, a place for prayer and meditation. I'm very glad you found it. Stay healthy and safe.

I’m so glad you decided to stay at San Nicholas! I want to stay here so much but it won’t be open when I pass thru this way in May. Thanks for posting.

Try the albergue in the ruins of San Anton just before Castrojeriz. I was greeted by the hospitalero shouting, 'no heating, cold showers, no electricity and no phone signal but we have food firewood and beer'. One of my best nights on the camino. Opens May 1st

I love this video! I love your introspection, your calm, your peace, your daily prayer, your spontaneity! My first Camino in 2018 was wonderful, but every stop was planned ahead of time and I was only able to go from Sarria. I hope I am able to go again from SJJP and be more spontaneous and let things come as they may!

Wonderful!! I hope you do return soon! And I hope to make another Camino in the near future, as well. It is burned into my heart and soul!! 👣❤️

I stayed there. It reminded me of growing up in the province, no lights, no running water...simple life, but we were happy. My family came a long way from that humble provincial life 🙏🏽

This was definitely an emotional one. A very sentimental one indeed. I don’t think I’d be able to pass that up to with being able to have that opportunity and see the very bare essentials. No electricity and just pure community. Love it! That fog and those huge signs...makes it all an experience! Thanks for sharing! 💕

An amazing place that is difficult to pass by. I stopped in the ruins of San Anton just before Castrojeriz just because it looked so primitive then got hooked by San Nicolas for the same reason. Took me three days to cover what I should have done in two. Then I got hooked by the albergue just before Carrion that has Teepees to stay in. Previous to San Anton, I fell for the old albergue at San Bol. Who needs electricity. By the way, hope you phoned ahead to cancel your original reservation. Had the joy of staying in a place one night with two other pilgrims and ten reserved signs for folk who never showed

Amazing places you stayed in! I’m so happy that I followed my heart. And yes, my friend let them know so they could release the bed since I didn’t have WiFi. 😊👍

@@IllGetThere Not a lot of wifi at San Nicolas. What they dont tell everyone is that there is a charging point for your phone in the battery room in the building out back but definitely no wifi. I was so far off the grid the few days in and around Castrojeriz, folk back home were getting worried when I did not contact them for days

My goal is to upload twice weekly, but we’re in the middle of moving house. Don’t know if you are planning to go off the grid, but I watched a fair amount of Camino videos while on my own Camino! 😄 Game me insights into what kinds of things I should look for and places to stop. 😊

Yes, do it! I wrestled with the fact that friends I made would move ahead and I may never catch up, but you have to decide your purpose for the Camino. I ended up meeting more people I may have never met had I not made the choices I made. And I don’t regret a thing. 😊👣

Hola! I am loving your videos. I’m doing the camino mid Sept into Oct this year. (2020). I just discovered your vlog and have watched all you posts in 2 days. Ha. I have been spoiled ... now I have to be patient. Lol. I would love to know what other vlogs you watched ... something to fill my void as I wait for your next posts. 😊 I will definitely check out Dale’s adventure, but I’m sure u discovered others too. You have already touched me in so many ways .... and I thank you so much. Curious as to how you choose your music, it is perfect for your videos. I will never have the discipline for a vlog ... but love to create my own video memories ... any tips will be greatly appreciated.

Wow!! Thank you so much for your support!! 😊 There are too many vlogs to mention, but some of my favorites include Efren Gonzalez, Alaskan Pilgrim, Lex Ells, and Samantha Plavins. And I’m sure there are many more I have yet to learn about since making my own Camino!! Happy planning and Buen Camino! 😊👣

About the music: I simply downloaded the royalty free songs that I thought would potentially fit my videos from the KZbin music library. Saved them to my phone and added them very easily to each video. Hope that helps. Lmk if you have any other questions!
