Another great video, thank you! Really such a shame that people can be so disrespectful and leave so much junk behind 😒

Thanks for watching! Yes it’s unfortunate, I might return one day with a boat and motor just clean for a couple days.

Big fan of fall camping. No bugs, nice and cool days and nights. I'm not much for lake swimming, so I don't feel like I'm missing all that much in that regard. I usually use a 100% Wool blanket over my sleeping bag that works absolute wonders! I got it at Marway Militaria Army Surplus in Winnipeg. It isn't the lightest blanket, that's for sure, but it's amazing.

The best time of year! I have been keeping an eye out for a nice wool blanket at thrift stores, sooner or later I’ll find a nice old one!

Camped at that spot about 25 years ago. Friend had a boat stashed there that I borrowed and at Bird we had a 12' tinner on a homemade trailer that weighed nothing for the quad to pull and a 2hp johnson kicker. Would use it to fish Osis, Birse, Kingston, Maryjane and Ryerson. Lucky back in the day the local logging roads were all still passable. Funny thing is I told my 3 friends I took in there it was a remote location and we didn't see anyone the first day. Second day a huge 17 foot boat with what must have been 8 people roars by. I didn't mention the youth wilderness camp on the lake. lol

Good story, that would have been funny to see the boat rip by! Thanks for sharing

The markings you saw on the trees are a recent mining claim.

Thanks. I have seen them in multiple spots throughout the park, hopefully no major mining happens. Could explain why parks doesn’t do anything at gem, perhaps mining in the future which has been my suspicion for years. Unfortunately.
