People think that Modern is OP. No, Haitani is, he is one of the 5 Japanese Fighting Gods. Modern actually has a lot of disadvantages as you sacrifice a lot of normal buttons. It only works on some characters like Chun-Li, Ryu, and Luke for the rest it is bad. Especially with Juri, she loses her standing jab, crouching medium punch which are combo openers

Hahaha, I have commentary turned on in my game. I never really pay close attention, but it is kind of funny. The only real life commentary I do not like is Yipes and maybe ToastySteve who only does Tekken. Yipes commentary makes me reluctant to watch future tournaments because he usually does a game consistently.

I agree to a degree, but over in FPS land, we all lost the battle to 'roller aim assist. I don't think Street Fighter is going backwards. Aim assist + 'roller opened up a whole new market (💰💰💰) for companies. Modern is onboarding so many players in a genre with a notoriously high skillgap/barrier to entry.

playing modern control is harder to win because damage is reduced. It's just that the Classic scrubs are always bitter and complaining about M when they lose to M player. Anyone can use M in the tournament, you/anyone can use M control in tournament, see if you can win?

@@Mario543212 can't get over the fact that modern isn't just a pure nerf control scheme for newbies, and instead is actually a viable option. I think it's great that every character in the game is now 2 characters. as long as one character doesn't just become super broken by modern it's all good by me. there were 2 moderns in top 24, and 1 in top6. wonder how many made it to top 96? Don't think it was that many. It's still a disadvantaged control scheme over all, i think.

@@johns783 Its a nerf for most, it's just for some characters certain tools that are hard to access become much more accessible, and combined with the fact you can still manually input special moves to get extra damage means some characters are better with a modern scheme. Chun Li might have one of the biggest helps of all the modern characters, because her anti-air goes from double-tap down + kick to forward + special, which is one of the two things Haitani is taking advantage of and a small reason why he's in winner's top 6.
