Stunning views! Try not to push it too hard though, slightly concerned about the pressure you’re putting on your lungs and heart post Covid. There’s been many sad endings where people have pushed themselves too far too quickly. Just stay safe out there!

I had just finished the TMB a couple days ago and am flying back to Calgary today. All my luggage was lost on the way in / still don't have it. I ended up going to Decatholon in Chamonix to buy all new gear. There was no way I missing this tour. Feels like I'm there with you! Hang in there, it's a grind, but so worth it!!!

I'm admiring how you folks have your shoulder and load stabilizer straps adjusted. (Stephanie is funny going through her meds kit, Ibu and antacids.... that's why!! Shoulda thought of that!)

I'm hurting seeing you struggle like this. I hope you are not doing too much so that it would inflame your lungs further. Stay safe!! It looks so beautiful out there, though. Oh, and a small point that made me surprisingly happy: you manage to edit your video in a way that you didn't cut off your last word!!! Woo-hoo!!

Massaging the Achilles tendon by pinching it and working it side to side as you work your way to the top of the tendon works pretty well. Check out this video, forward to 11:30 for massaging the Achilles. Good luck! Soak in those cold streams too!

After covid my husband called it Lungulations. It took me a year of working my lungs hiking to not feel like that. And Steph, a nice mini massage from Justin and your calves will feel a lot better. I have a great husband who has magic massage hands.

Glad (?) to see there's others out there having to deal with eczema on the trail. What exactly was in that kit for it? I struggle pretty bad with it on my hands and feet, especially after being out in the heat and humidity for a couple days at a time. I try to take allergy meds to reduce it but always end up having to bring moisturizer to deal with inevitable flare ups. :/

I hope you're all better now Justin. That can't be any fun at all hiking at altitude with reduced lung function 😢 The views are spectacular tho, holy jeez! Almost makes me want to go hike it myself! 😁 being an Ontario flatlander tho, I may have to do some altitude training.

Hope you get better soon! Or you’re doing better now if this is already recorded. Dealing with injuries on long hikes like that is brutal. Mentally more than physically even at times. Had to deal with some rough calf issues and possibly tendonitis on the Camino a couple months back. Take care of yourself, the trail is always there.

Has your other half considered using KT tape for her injury? A strip each side of her achilles from her heel to mid way up her calf might help, leave the actual achilles free, just giving it a bit of support.

Could not find the tent you mentioned on the Decathlon site, Forclaz Trek 900.....is it a prototype? Wanted to know the weight of the tent and price.
@moritzhuntemann2 жыл бұрын
According to their site it weighs 1.95 kg (4.3 lbs) and costs 229.99€. Maybe it‘s not available in the US yet. I know that their range of products is smaller there.

So many questions: refugios have food/drinks, staff? When you get back will you go over how you planned this trip,etc? And is Steph wearing something like a Hoka or a regular trail runner? Wondering if Hokas would help make the achilles feel better? I get that every so often from foot slapping when tired. Also Steph don't feel bad I also carry Vitamin I cream.🤣
@thomaskleber84202 жыл бұрын
normally refugios in the alps have staff and offer food and drinks but there are also self-catering huts (but not that much), it depends
@StingyPrepper2 жыл бұрын
She is definitely using Hoka. From the look of it it could be the Speedgoat 3 or 4 but I am not sure about the model.

On the TMB all refugios have Food, Drinks, Staff and unfortunatley most of the season Crowds.
