In 2024, out-of-province Canadian students attending the 3 English universities (McGill, Concordia, and Bishop's) in Quebec will see their tuition increased drastically. The original proposal was to double their tuition. After negotiation with Quebec government, those attending McGill and Concordia will see their tuition changing from 9,000 (2023) to 12,000 (2024). Bishop's, located in Sherbrooke, received an exemption on tuition hike from Quebec government.

@@souravsingharoy8987 For PR, you need a job. Many employers require employees to be bilingual or at least speak French. Also, Quebec has its own immigration system (50k PR in 2024) and does not subscribe to federal Express Entry. For tourism, Montreal is fine. Also, if you have Canadian or PR status, and don't mind learning French, Quebec is a good option because rent is lower than Toronto.

You will receive points due to knowing French; plus you qualify for French category Express Entry draws with lower CRS cutoffs for ITA. French is used mainly in Quebec (French province), New Brunswick (Canada's only bilingual province), and capital city of Ottawa (federal government jobs). The rest of Canada uses English. There are small pockets of French communities in Ontario, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, PEI, and Yukon.
