Willem-Alexander and Máxima help make food at Caritas, an organization in many districts of Vienna. They help to set up, for example, a joint library, a garden club or a cooking club, so that residents can meet each other. In Kulturhaus Brotfabrik, Caritas is carrying out a long-term 'community cooking' project. People from the neighborhood cook together, in which an exchange takes place between Austrian dishes and food with other influences. It is supervised by local volunteers. Queen Máxima and Federal President Van der Bellen assist in the preparation of falafel with tahini, an Egyptian dish.
In the Sonnwendviertel, a mix of different population groups has been considered and sustainability has been considered, so that the new neighborhoods are future-proof and are and remain liveable. During the walk, we will discuss how architecture can contribute to integration and social inclusion, but also to combating climate change. It is also discussed how the government can contribute to keeping the city affordable.
