Day 22 - SA Road Trip - Johannesburg! [incl. Gold Reef City]

Today we woke up early and made our way to the Hop-On Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour Bus offices in Rosebank, which took us all across the city to a number of unique and culturally significant stops. The view from the back was amazing, and we got to see parts of Joburg we wouldn't have been able to see otherwise due to safety. We hopped off at the Gold Reef City stop, and explored for hours. We rode the Runaway Train (and got the T-shirt!), which was and probably always will be the scariest thing I've ever done. I nearly fell out multiple times and was absolutely unprepared for what the ride entailed. Thoroughly shook, we got something to eat and rode the family train through the park because our feet were getting sore (GRC is huge!). Unfortunately, while in line for the ferris wheel, it started drizzling, so many rides closed. We slowly walked back to the pickup point and rejoined the bus tour, taking us back up the loop to where we started. Highly recommend!
