I changed up my color palette today and decided to paint white abstract flowers with acrylics on canvas.

6 x 6 inch canvas
pastels for sketching

Prussian Blue - Golden
Titanium White - Golden
Hansa Yellow Medium - Golden
Indian Yellow - Golden

I haven't seen you do a black background to flowers and I think you'd be surprised how amazing it would look! I recently saw an antique plate that had flowers and a black background... I thought it would be a great painting! :-)

Black does look nice. I used to to a lot of dark blue backgrounds a couple of years ago. I'm doing a lot of experimenting right now although I haven't filmed anything recently. :)

Your paint seems to glide so much smoother on the canvas than what I use (tubes) also seems to go farther!

I know what you mean. Some paints are thick and they don't glide easily. I've been using Golden Fluid Acrylics. They are very thin, almost watery, but the colors are very vibrant. They dry very quickly though so I only put a small amount on my palette at a time.

This is beautiful! I love it!!! Do you have a place where you link/list the colors you use? I want to do like a bulk buy. I did purchase the magenta but now that I’ve discovered Blick, I want to buy more!! :) thank you!

I should make an official list because I've been getting this question a lot lately. These are definitely the colors I use the most: Turquoise Phthalo, Teal, Hansa Yellow Medium, Primary Magenta, Quinacridone Magenta, Titanium White. These are the colors I use once in a while: Green Gold, Prussian Blue, Quinacridone Red, Carbon Black, Phthalo Blue, Primary Cyan, Naphthol Red, Pyrrole Red, Indian Yellow. I hope that helps!
