I drove into Hot Springs (that day I believe) to try a walk on the AT to see if I can do this in 2 years. My gps told me to turn onto Appalachian Scenic Trail instead of Main Street. That climb up lovers leap was tough but 6 miles out and back again taught me what I needed to know😊. Love your videos, good luck.

I have watched "The Way" with Martin Sheen many times. That's what got me interested in hiking and then got interested in the AT.

Thank you for this great video of your restful day in the compelling little trail town of Hot Springs. May God give His watch care over you as you return to the trail. I have talked with your penguin friend and he said to relay a 'one' word friendly reminder to you....And I quote, ."Calories! Be sure to increase your consumption of healthy high calories, as much as you can, because of the miles you are hiking." Yes, that is more than one word; apparently penguins can't count.🙂

Another great video. A different style presentation. Appreciate the history lessons. My family is from long time back from NC. My grandmother who was born in 1900 (lived to be 92) used to tell of the "Germans" who were in NC during WWI and she said also WWII as prisoners. I do not recall if she knew exactly where they were held. Nice to see the Inn and the town. How are you foot blister(s) progressing. Glad to see you taking your time to "smell the roses" and thank you for taking us along with you.

Nice that you have that connection to the history I talked about. The big toe blister is slowly improving. I managed to change the bandage without pulling any skin off (the new skin below needs more time to form).
