I"m loving the fog .... It adds a magical touch somehow . Also , I think you are so right in doing a short video every day rather than a larger one every few days ... It's the little things , not the broad strokes ....... Take Care ... :D

Wonderful day of hiking! I had similar issues with a pair of Hoka trail runners and then some Nikes. A friend mentioned that it might be because I drag the front of my foot sometimes or I accidentally kick roots and rocks. Her advice seemed to have helped with my last two pair, but only time will tell.

I have some Under Armor hiking shoes that I got in 2018 and hiked well over a thousand miles on have held up amazingly. The shoes you showed look almost like knock-offs of mine.

A soggy but good day. I very enjoy your commentary along the way. Amazing elevation gain, too. Keep On Truckin’

Congratulations Jessie! 257 miles down and you are still full of smiles and energy. Thanks for all your efforts in honestly portraying the AT in all of its physical and hiker emotional aspects. Your vlogs are coming thru beatifully in capturing your good days and not so good days. I am debating if the low-weight advantages of trail runners are lost when considering they are almost continually cold and wet thru GA and TN during Spring. Compared to low-weight mid-high hiking boots, which to a larger extent remain more waterproof, durable and provide ankle support when compared to trail runners. I would very much appreciate advice to assist my AT thru hike planning.

Someone in my tramily wear mid-high hiking boots! She’s loves them, but they soaked through with all the rain, as well. One thing I did notice was that my trail runners were dry the next morning after being soaked through but her boots were still pretty wet, even after the insoles were taken out to dry overnight

@@Maybe_Jessie Thanks Jessie, I will keep watching your vlogs and I wish you happy hiking all to way to Katahdin. You provide a wealth of valuable information for anyone planning an AT thru hike. Each vlog is of ideal duration and they cover the essentials. Thanks again. Ray

Happy Friday Jessie!! Looks like you're having a blast on this journey. While it obscures views, the fog looks so cool. Great for photography! Have a great weekend!

I hate to see glue-down soles separate. I am one of those old fashioned hikers that still rock stitch-down soles and ankle support. My hiking boots have at least 2k miles, and are on their second soles. Most would reject them for their weight. I do have those Teva sandals in dark brown, and wear them all the time. Great piece of gear. I'll probably replace the velcro at least once before they are totally worn out. Thank you for sharing!

That was a great day even though the views were limited on Max Patch. I enjoyed the time lapse.

Over the Misty Mountains... Edit to add, Snowbird Peak's elevation is 4249 feet. The 2007 is the year the measurement was made and the geomarker was placed.

Max Patch view is one of those "weather dependent" deals-lol. How were the emotions returning to spot where you decided to thru hike AT or did rainy weather dampen that? Nice big mile day you had!!
@Maybe_Jessie2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, it didn’t quite feel the same with the rainy weather and lack of views. I think it hit me more as I was going through Hot Springs!

I hate your views was limited while on Max Patch. I wear Hoka’s a lot. Hoka should replace those shoes 👟 since they only last less than 200 miles.. Happy hiking Jessie 🥾

Get a rain skirt. You are probably out of Hot Springs. Rain skirt will keep you fairly dry and cool.
