I am from California. I enjoy this channel with Eric. Today the portrait lesson is terrific with his color palette on this portrait and I like his energy and sense of humor in this lesson. Pay attention on the muscles and bone structure study while painting is very important to capture the character in portrait. This is the key core of my lesson today.

Hello from Kyiv - MUsorgskij - the stress is on the first syllable, but thanks for the choice - Repin was an extraordinary artist in my opinion now, when i am in my 60 s, but when i was a young Soviet artist, training under Soviet educational system in art, i prefered Valentin Serov and, especially Vasilij Surikov to Repin - he looked too "naturalistic for me at those time! (And we where taught that "naturalism" should be differenciated from "realism" - realism should be a goal, but we should avoid naturalism:-). And how the world changed since then!!🤯🤯🤯🤯 could i imagined then that i would watch an American artist teaching a master-copying Illya Repin painting!🤯🤯🤯🤯
